Switzerland based blackened death force STORTREGN’s highly anticipated fourth album “Emptiness Fills The Void” comes out today via Dutch label Non Serviam Records.

The band states: “We’ve been working on this album for some time now, and it is with great pride that we release it. We pushed our limits further during the composition process and the result is a piece of work where each knob has been turned up to the maximum. Each member has a different musical background, and the range and depth of the riffs, rhythms and sound of this record serve as a testament of this variety. As a whole, the listener can expect a blend black and death metal, with a hint of old school heavy metal with a contemporary twist to it. Get ready. Charging riffs, blast beats and furious vocals will fill your head and shred your brain to pieces…and you’ll beg for more!”

The Get Up Kids release video to “Better This Way”

Jim Suptic, who sings lead on the track, said the song is “about making a choice. A choice that you think is right at the time, but then it turns out there really isn’t a right choice. Every decision has consequences good or bad. The best we can hope for is being able to live with the fallout. Relationships can be hard and need to be worked on. That goes for husband, wife, friend, family, etc. I think this song is hopeful, some might not see it that way. A glass filled to the middle is either half full or half empty. Sometimes it’s just nice to have something to drink.” Director Shawn Brackbill explained the video’s inspiration to The FADER: “We wanted to do something that incorporated a foosball table as a nod to the cover art of the Kicker EP. The track really brings us back to the classic Get Up Kids sound, and we wanted the video to have a nostalgic feel. I spent a bit of time digging around for inspiration, much of which comes from the ‘80s and ‘90s.”

LONDON PLANE Shares Debut Album ‘New York Howl’

New York City based six-piece, female-fronted rock band LONDON PLANE shares their forthcoming debut LP New York Howl. PopMatters praises the record writing, “Throughout, vocalist Cici James strikes a remarkable balance of passion and remove, choosing not to oversell the emotional qualities inherent in the haunted and haunting lines of pieces such as ‘The Farther Down We Go’ or even the comparatively uplifting ‘Make It Our Own.’ She and songwriter Mosey form the creative nucleus of a band that has bright things in store for it, even the music remains deliciously dark.”
