The music service’s largest playlist boasts more than 19 million followers, expanding the hit duo’s reach in addition to their slot on Spotify’s Hot Country playlist with more than 4.5 million followers. Released in January, “Tequila” tallies over 31 million on-demand streams, making it one of the Top 20 most streamed country songs of 2018, and is quickly rising through the Top 40 at country radio. LA duo The Dot and the Line, “Addicted Heart”
The Dot And The Line is an English musical duo formed in 2017 in LA, consisting of keyboardist, guitarist and programmer Ned Douglas and songwriter / vocalist Hetty Clark. Born from of a shared love of downtempo electronica (Portishead, The XX, Haelos), the pair started writing together to carve out their sound and produce their debut EP. Richard Luke is a multi-instrumentalist composer and producer based in Glasgow, Scotland making modern-classical, ambient and experimental new music. His new album ‘Voz’ — a reference to Luke actually being voice-less for sometime last year— was released last month on Swedish independent label 1631 Recordings and today sees a whimsically animated new video for the album track “Washing Day” directed by Claire Lamond, premiering via The 405. “The gentle track can be considered a parable, preaching a moral of teamwork in order to restore the natural wonder of our world,” they note. The track premiered in a piece on New Noise Magazine where Lawitts shared, “The songs on this EP started as drafts for a new album by a band that is now defunct,” shares Lawitts, “I had completed the most of the instrumentals by fall 2016, the band I had written the songs for broke up in December, and then I spent the first half of 2017 racing around on tour with a horde of other musicians and bands, mostly getting really depressed in vans and hotel rooms about the seeming sudden lack of direction in my life and attempting to complete these songs on my own.
