The video for “Partyin’ Is Such Sweet Sorrow” from Tristen’s acclaimed record, Sneaker Waves (Modern Outsider; 2017), premieres today via BUST Magazine. In the video, Tristen flips the script, writing and singing the song from the perspective of a man. Through this process, she scratched the surface of a greater problem, the lack of women writers and complex female characters. Thus, came the creation of its visual and accompanying essay titled “Is Art Imitating Life or Just Limiting Women.”

DEATH POP: VOWWS shares new single Structure of Love

Vowws shared the third single today from their upcoming album Under The World, due out March 2nd via Anti-Language Records. “Structure of Love” was produced by VOWWS in conjunction with Kevin S. McMahon (Swans, Titus Andronicus) and recorded to tape at McMahon’s upstate NY studio/barn, adding a vintage and pretty unique texture to the track. This song combines elements of pop, post-punk and western guitars, resulting in something that the band has named “Death Pop.”

Pollstar Recognizes Levitate Festival As Poster Contest Winner

Levitate Music Festival is proud to announce artist Nathaniel Deas has been awarded third place in Pollstar’s annual poster contest for his 2017 Levitate Festival custom poster design. The nod from Pollstar is the second accolade awarded to Levitate Festival, a sixth-year festival which also received a Pollstar Magazine ‘Music Festival of the Year’ nomination in 2016. This year’s festival is slated for July 7th-8th, 2018 in Marshfield, MA (just south of Boston).

Since 2004, Pollstar has hosted a poster contest during their annual Pollstar Live! Conference. This year, more then 80 poster submissions were displayed during the conference and voted on by attendees.

Roots of Creation Set To Release New Album ‘Grateful Dub’ March 9th

Roots of Creation (RoC) announce their highly anticipated coast-to-coast Grateful Dub 2018 tour dates! The band kicks off the tour appropriately at Garcia’s in Port Chester, NY for Deadcenter: a Bob Marley Birthday Celebration on February 7th.

Highlights on the 33+ date tour includes supporting Wyclef Jean (The Fugees) at Jannus Live in St. Petersburg. Lil’ Keke & The Suffers “Southside 2K Live” 2018

The final piece to Lil’ Keke’s “Don’t Mess Wit Texas” 20th Anniversary celebration is here. That’s right, 2017 marked been 20 years since the release of Lil’ Keke’d debut album, the album that contained his hit song “Southside”.

Lil’ Keke and The Suffers were first introduced at a Houston music festival. The Suffers were basically the House Band for the super-group called “Welcome To Texas”. The group included Slim Thug, Paul Wall, Z-Ro, Bun B and Lil’ Keke all performing their hit songs with live band The Suffers. Keke really enjoyed his performance with The Suffers, so when the opportunity came up last year to go into the studio and record with the band he didn’t hesitate.
