‘Rebelliön’ – new single from Hella Rebelliön
‘Rebelliön’ is a no-compromise-scandic-punk-rock song form one of Norway’s greatest musical export since black metal. ‘Rebelliön’ is a homage to the 2000s Norwegain underground scene. High energy, organic and dirty Northwest-core!
Spring 2017 a hard-hitting rock outfit rose from the remnants of a train crash in Ålesunds dimly lit back alleys. Hella Rebelliön plays punk with references to several of the 21st century’s greatest Norwegian giants.
The tracks are steeped in a drive and agressiveness that draws parallells to bands like Silver and Zugly. The vocalist Markus sounds like a pissed off Hank Von Helvete at his best/worst.

Miami Rapper ToBy Announces ‘ToBySeason Vol. 1’
ToBy says of the project: “Making ‘ToBySeason Vol. I was such a unique experience for me because it was the first time I got to work with a producer as dedicated and tied to the project as Aleks. I had made music with my band and released stuff independently but that all felt more of a solo endeavor. This process saw me as head of all aspects of the creative process and really taught me what it meant to make a good compilation. It was the perfect time to do it too, having moved to LA indefinitely meant that I could really explore what and who ‘ToBy’ is. I think I did that with the versatility I achieved on this. The singing was stuff I’d always wanted to take further and the more commercial elements were fun tracks I always wanted to make. So all in all, if I were to wrap up the project into one word I’d call it ‘eager’. My hunger to get better at what I do every day is what gets me out of bed in the morning and ‘ToBySeason Vol. I’ is a concrete example of that.”

My love of his music inspired me to explore that phrase, which to me meant bringing together connections to the natural world that a ‘cowboy’ possesses, with a sense of innovation in songwriting and production. In living the life I lead, I can’t escape the natural world — all the better to invite it in as a palette from which to create music.”

Ten Feet Off The Ground was one of the first songs to be written for my new album It has been a long time in the making for me, and my co-writer/producer Mattias Tell and I ended up making a very country influenced album. Bloom releases new single ‘The Sweetest Love’
Perth Singer/Songwriter, Amanda Canzurlo, who has long performed under the pseudonym of Bloom, is set to release her new single just in time for Valentines Day, aptly titled ‘The Sweetest Love’.
The track – her first original release since 2015 EP self-titled Bloom and due for release on February 11 – shows a different side of Bloom. Where ‘Bloom’ explored stories of loss and despair, ‘The Sweetest Love’ is an uplifting story of love.
Although not written by Bloom herself – sourcing the track from international songwriters Brian Sutherland in Nashville and Jody Stewart-Regner in Canada whom Bloom is currently writing her next EP with, Bloom instantly took a liking to it when she heard it.
“As soon as I heard this song, I loved it,” Bloom says of the track. “I love that it is a positive love song and I thought it would be nice and fresh to release something different.”
“Marriage Equality has been a big thing in our country lately so when they told me the song was actually inspired by the love between two women, the lyrics made a lot of sense to me. I believe love is love and we shouldn’t discriminate with sex or race”.

ISMAY SHARES NEW EP VIA THE 405
The 405 has shared Ismay’s debut EP ‘Songs From A River’ before its 2/9 release. Prior to this, Pop Matters shared Ismay’s second single entitled “Oh Precious Light” and her first single “River Of Light” debuted on No Depression. When talking about the EP Ismay says, “My hopes for this record were to take the first steps towards embodying a modern cowboy psychedelia — a phrase I heard of when researching Lee Hazlewood.

New On Communion singles Club Introducing Fairhazel
Fairhazel is the moniker of London-based musical nomad Hugh Macdonald, who releases 7×7, his exciting debut effort, as part of Communion’s Singles Club.
Raised in Cape Town, London and Paris, Fairhazel takes inspiration from the many different cultures surrounding him during his youth. The cobbled streets of Paris, the openness of Cape Town, the introversion of London – all this feeds into his music, which blurs genre lines, combining both minimalist production and expansive instrumentation.
Jay Smith “Ten Feet Off The Ground”
”I’m down with punk, I’m down with the rockers, I’m down with the blues.. and all the others…”
Ten Feet Off The Ground was one of the first songs to be written for my new album It has been a long time in the making for me, and my co-writer/producer Mattias Tell and I ended up making a very country influenced album. I am very happy and proud of this as the country has been something I have been wanting to do for a very long time.
Ten Feet Off The Ground is a song about hope and about longing and about finishing the journey. The full album will be out by the summer.
