Brantley Gilbert Enlists PEDIGREE® Brand & DAV

Brantley Gilbert’s commitment to America’s service members has always been a driving force in a career that’s seen him play for the people instead of the music industry. Whether hitting #1 with the powerful “One Hell of an Amen” to honor a fallen soldier and his friend who was there, or taking a string of motorcycles from his home in Georgia to Arlington National Cemetery to honor the men and women who’ve served our nation, the songwriter powerhouse has sought to give back and say thank you. For Gilbert, it wasn’t enough.

After multiple conversations on how to help servicemen and women returning home, coping with the challenges of the transition back to civilian life, he reached out to DAV (Disabled American Veterans) with the idea of pairing veterans in need with companion dogs to help normalize their re-acclimation. On Saturday, Feb. 3, Gilbert’s notion will become a reality. Jason Hassinger, 29, of Philadelphia, will travel to Albany, New York, to meet his new best friend.

Lil’ Keke and The Suffers were first introduced at a Houston music festival. The Suffers were basically the House Band for the super-group called “Welcome To Texas”. The group included Slim Thug, Paul Wall, Z-Ro, Bun B and Lil’ Keke all performing their hit songs with live band The Suffers. Keke really enjoyed his performance with The Suffers, so when the opportunity came up last year to go into the studio and record with the band he didn’t hesitate.

OUT NOW Danny Serrano & Mendo ‘Ramon Ramon’ EP [Desolat]

This pair loves to get in the studio together and has been doing so for over a decade. Danny Serrano & Mendo return to the fold with a peach of a release, the three-track ‘Ramon Ramon’. Title track ‘Ramon Ramon’, featuring the vocals of Andre Butano, mesmerises with a gamut of metallic, rhythmic percussion, which feels as if it’s gaining pace. ‘Grush’ follows; a little thicker, heavily rhythmic in the mids, with a rush-inducing breakdown. The duo expertly finishes things off with the rough-edged and clap-happy ‘Confessions’.
