It was performed on an Oberheim analog synthesizer, with the beat created using Native Instrument’s Maschine. Most of the verse vocals were recorded on Apple earbuds. Most of this was done between the hours of 2 and 5am. Though her new EP, Give It a Rest, is scheduled for release in 2018, the title track has already been picked up for exclusive rotation on KCRW in Los Angeles, where she was invited to make her American debut.

Leah James Announces Solo Debut Album

Singer/songwriter Leah James announced today the release of her solo debut album While She Sleeps on March 30th. The daughter of renowned Eagles guitarist Don Felder, James steps out on her own for the first time, writing, recording, and producing the album solely by herself. The result is a sweeping indie-folk record, decorated with symphonic strings, tenor guitar, piano, and the soft swoon of Leah’s voice. Today, she releases her new single called “Wildfire,” the first song she wrote for the record, which was premiered this morning by Billboard.

“How many different counties do I need to play in for it to count as a world tour?” That’s a question Charles Ellsworth found himself asking as dates started coming together for his latest tour which will take him across the US, Australia, and Canada. “So much of the last two years was spent focused on putting out the new album [Cesaréa]. Between working several jobs at a time in order to merely exist in New York City, I’ve been feeling very stagnant creatively. I realized it had been a while since I put myself completely out of my comfort zone and while I’ve been out of money on the road with no idea how I was going to make it to the next show before I’ve never tried it in another country.”

Tribal Seeds release video for “Gunsmoke (ft. Protoje)”

Based in San Diego, Tribal Seeds come at their music from a different angle, more influenced by bands like Steel Pulse and Aswad than the common touchstone of Sublime. Formed in 2005 by the Jacobo brothers, singer Steven and producer Tony-Ray, the group issued its debut album, Youth Rebellion, that same year. The album was the first of many to be released on the group’s own label, including a self-titled album in 2008 plus The Harvest from 2009. The Soundwaves EP followed in 2011, while 2014’s Representing cracked the Billboard Top 200 Albums chart and was endorsed by the likes of USA Today.
