British Mod Band ‘HeavyBall’ Release Album

Sadat X of Brand Nubian ft Big Twins & Dcypha “The Truth”

Living legend, Sadat X of Brand Nubian lays down the homecoming for reinstating the era of conscious hip hop. Sadat X’s artistic evolution delivers, capturing his classic themes that are abrasive and hopeful pushing hip hop into a different terrain to reflect modern times. Big Twins provides a melodic polarity with his grimy vocals and animated lyrics expressing bars that give sentiment to the original era of hip hop. BigBob, claims this track as one of his milestones in his esteemed accomplishments in music and hip hop. Spirited scratching from Dcypha add some essence to the track and the experiment pays off using the authentic themes of hip hop to execute a hard hitting sound that reminisces of a by gone era to seamlessly flow in a brand new contemporary time.

Detroit’s Chris Orrick Declares The End of Red Pill

Today Detroit musician Chris Orrick officially retired the moniker Red Pill and takes dead aim at Trump era ambition built on lies and self-agrandizement. A needed reminder that though your 401K may be doing well, it doesn’t mean your vapid soul is any less empty.

In a statement Chris Orrick said:
“Over the last couple of years, I’ve noticed a growing movement on the internet called “The Red Pill” that continues to gain momentum. They spew hate and ignorance, in a totally misconstrued interpretation of the famous scene in the movie “The Matrix” that we both draw inspiration from. I tried to ignore it, but given my own values and principles and especially given the current political and social climate that we live in, I couldn’t live with myself being associated with their bullshit. From now on I’m going by my real name. You can call me Chris.”

“Human” – from dream-pop trio Raised By Dinosaurs

A South American dream-pop trio based in San Francisco, Raised By Dinosaurs exist to ponder the “everyday fear of being irrelevant.” Their first EP ‘Night Terrors’ (released 11/23/17) is a tragically upbeat exploration of a wiser yet more jaded persona that evolves as youth and vitality begin to fade. Collaborating remotely from Brazil, guitarist Henrique St.Clair incorporates an experimental dreamy tone to the melodies, distancing the group away from the upbeat nature of pop and towards a gloomier, more self-reflective vibe. Singer/songwriter Marcello Manso haunts lead vocalist Sol Diaz through each track like the shadow of a memory she struggles to let go of, her own voice gradually degenerating into the electronic composition of the songs, becoming like technology and trends, unavoidably obsolete.

The Whistles & the Bells – alt-rock moniker of acclaimed singer, songwriter, producer, and multi-instrumentalist Bryan Simpson – has revealed a “dark but beautifully poetic” new single, “Ode To Yeezus / Ultralight Beam,” which EARMILK is premiering today. They call the track “a somber tune that blurs the line between songwriter and mad-man producer,” and state, “Simpson takes a very real moment in Kanye West’s life to create a sonic reflection on the current state of this social media/often shallow world we’re living in…It’s an evocative look at how too often we forget that artists, like Kanye, are real people with human struggles and that their personal battles aren’t just catchy headlines to them,” adding, “Be sure to turn the lights down, put these songs on and sip a glass of red wine because that is the best way to enjoy this beautiful, strange magic.”
