TYSON MEADE SHARES STATEMENT ON DEATH OF CHAINSAW KITTENS DRUMMER

Statement from Tyson Meade and the Chainsaw Kittens:

We are devastated by the loss of our drummer Eric Harmon. He was an essential part of our band – our Starr, our Moon, our Bonham. He’s irreplaceable as a drummer. As a friend, his passing will leave a void in our lives that will never be filled.

As we were preparing for our first show in nearly ten years, Eric fell ill during rehearsals. Before this sad turn of events, we had all become excited about the Kittens being active again. Eric had the same zeal and mayhem that he had always had as a drummer, which was infectious and gloriously infected the rest of the band, this time more than ever. In as much, we started talking about playing more festivals because we knew in our hearts the one we were about to play was just the start of another chapter for the Kittens and we were all immensely excited about this. We had even talked about making a new record, since it’s been nearly 20 years since our last one. Now we don’t know what the future holds and it’s difficult to think about without our brother Eric.

Tyson was set to release his new album – Robbing The Nuclear Family – in a few weeks, but out of respect for Eric (who was in the Kittens for nearly 25 years) he has decided to postpone the release – more information will follow at a later date. Right now. the band wants to mourn their friend and at the same time think about the joy and craziness – Eric knew how to bring the craziness – he brought into their lives.

Scandi SQRD New Single ‘Scars’

Carl- Robin aka SQRD says: ‘The fundamental aim of music, and arguably all art, is to evoke emotions. Whether it be by drawing a satirical cartoon to illuminate a social issue, telling a story that examines the human condition or simply enhancing a mood with music. My way of capturing the lo-fi feeling and many layers of falsetto vocals does just this. Rather than trying to convey a specific message, tracks like “Scars” attempts to capture a certain state of mind at the time of listening to it’.

Holding his own in a duet with Eric Bellinger, Victor showcases his golden pipes in a tale of modern love gone wrong. In the video, premiered by Complex, Victor romances a lady until their relationship turns sour, and when she keeps calling him after they’ve broken up, Victor is forced to draw a line in the sand: he unfollows her on all social media platforms. “Unfollow” is a highlight form Songs For You, Victor’s debut EP, which also features an appearance from 2 Chainz.
