Music Video: The Make Pretend “Sorry I Let You Down”

The Make Pretend is the nom de guerre of NYC artist Jason Verlaine.

Raised in the majestic wilds of western Massachusetts, Verlaine relocated to NYC in 2002 in pursuit of everything… and lots of it. From late nights dancing with men dressed as unicorns at the Boiler Room to afternoon tea in the Plaza Hotel, Verlaine’s ubiquitous Moleskine was bursting with stories to tell. And so he told them.

Typhoon return with new album “Offerings”

If a Fellini film, a Bosch painting, and a Rorschach drawing had a collective sound, it would be Typhoon’s new release. The 14-track record Offerings is a musical and lyrical excursion into surreal imagery, eerie soundscapes, and an emotionally jarring narrative.

The 70-minute album for Roll Call Records, which is the Portland, Oregon indie rock band’s fourth studio album, centres on a fictional man who is losing his memory, and in turn, his sense of self. “I’ve always been preoccupied with memory, losing memory, and trying to recapture memory. I wanted to explore the questions: What does a person become if they don’t know where they came from? What is the essential quality of the person if you strip away all memory?” explains singer/songwriter Kyle Morton.

Adam French – ‘Weightless’ Official Video

A serenade built on thorny guitar lines that creep underneath an icy soundscape, Weightless reflects the importance of shared burden, halved worries and the ever-changing landscape of a relationship. The song is lifted from Adam’s forthcoming Weightless EP, out 8th November.

Shot in a single take and in ultra-slow motion, the video is a surreal experience, like being stuck in a metaphorical floating bubble. Drifting from room to room, in a haze of nostalgia, we see Adam and adolescents reverting to different childlike states in their attempt to block out the harsh reality of adulthood. Watch HERE
