Katie Herzig Releases New Music Video

Katie Herzig has unveiled her new music video for “Strangers,” the latest single from her upcoming album, Moment of Bliss. The video is now available to view at YouTube, and Moment of Bliss is expected out in early 2018.

“‘Strangers’ is one of the first songs I wrote for the new album. Over time I fell in love with the simplicity and chillness of this song and wanted it to be the first on my record. Lyrically it digs into that vague feeling of discontentment that can chase us around in life, even when we have every reason to be content. I think when I wrote this song I was finding my way through that heaviness, but what I loved most about the song is that it felt like it knew how to get to me the other side of it. It gave me comfort over and over again as I worked on it and listen to it now.”

Eric Slick (Dr. Dog) protests bigotry + hate groups on “Secrets”

“i wrote this song after watching an news piece about a jewish real estate agent in montana. she had been attacked by online trolls and was uprooted from her community just because of her religious choice. it was horrifying and heartbreaking to watch. it made me fear for my jewish family and friends. the lyrics of this song are decidedly vitriolic against anyone who thinks they have the privilege to hate for no reason, namely our current president and his followers. keeping a secret about your identity is now a powerful and useful tool against those who want to bring you down.

after recording, i was thinking the song needed some guitar. sadie dupuis from speedy ortiz is a guitar god and one of my favorite musicians so i reached out. she graciously added a jaw dropping guitar solo. all proceeds of the single will be donated to beyond the bars.” -Eric Slick
