After three years of touring and writing, the duo returned to the studio last December to record Nowhere in Time with producer Alex Perialas at Pyramid Sound Studios. The album highlights the incredibly-refined skill of both musicians — and while the majority of the album is a simple combination of fiddle, banjo, and captivating melodies, the duo manages to pack an incredibly full sound. “At the beginning, we were thinking it might be a project with lots of other people involved, more of a big production. As we went through it, we realized that the magic lies within the duo. We have an intimacy of music and we feel the power of two people playing. That’s who we are,” said Rosie.

Today, Brooklyn-based, indie rock band, Layne Montgomery Paper Company, share their new single and video, “Teenage Feelings.” Impose premiered the video, stating “The track is a whip-smart slice of power-pop with a riotous energy ready to rally you through those long, crisp autumn city nights.” This is the debut track from the newly named band, formally known as The Romantic Comedy, and prior to that, The Great American Novel. “Teenage Feelings” was recorded, mixed and mastered by Ayad Al Adhamy (Passion Pit, Team Spirit) at Diamond City Studios in New York City. Atlanta-based rock band, The Funeral Portrait, have already had a busy year and don’t look to be slowing down any time soon. With a little more than a week until the band heads out on “The Empress Tour” with Social Repose, it was announced today that The Funeral Portrait will be joining Emery on tour this fall. The week-long set of dates is a part of Emery’s $10 Fan Appreciation Tour which features tickets for general admission starting at $10 a piece with VIP tickets for $30. Daryl Hall & John Oates are embarking on a Southern run of their successful North American tour, performing in Cedar Park, Sugar Land, Tuscaloosa and Jacksonville before wrapping up on September 30th in Charleston at the North Charleston Coliseum.

Today, singer-songwriter Shawn Mendes, announced that he is partnering with Red Cross to raise money and bring awareness to those in need after a devastating earthquake hit Mexico on Tuesday September 19. The campaign, launching as a fundraiser on CrowdRise, part of GoFundMe, is raising funds for immediate and urgent relief efforts in Mexico. The singer was in Mexico City during the quake preparing for his show on September 20, which was cancelled due to the state of emergency and out of respect for the ongoing relief efforts.
Bohnes, formerly of popular pop-rock band The Cab, releases new single “Six Feet Under” TODAY, along with an evocative video, HERE @skopemag. The song, which is the first track from his upcoming album, was produced by Matt Johnson (Matt and Kim), and written with Bryan Sammis (formerly of The Neighbourhood). The single marks the first piece of new music for Bohnes since the release of “Middle Finger” in 2015.

Long before East LA’s newest indie power trio became Lone Kodiak, singer/guitarist Dainéal Parker and bassist Daniel Alden were in a Portland band called Emberghost. At the event, Berklee presented an American Master Award to Grammy Award-winning musician and producer Rick DePofi, recognizing and honoring him for his lifetime of work in the industry, and for his initial vision for BerkleeNYC. It was DePofi who approached Pete Muller, Berklee trustee and founder and CEO of PDT Partners, with the idea of buying Avatar Studios and collaborating with the institution to establish a New York presence.

“‘Hello Summer’ actually came to me from Thomas Rhett who had co-written the song while writing for his own album with his dad Rhett Akins, Jaren Johnston and his producer Julian Bunetta” Bradbery explains. “He felt like the song could be re-written with a female perspective and so I sat down with his dad Rhett, and he re-wrote some of the lyrics to fit my voice. Julian agreed to produce it, and I’m so proud of how it turned out. It’s one of the few I didn’t co-write myself but I feel it really speaks to the same emotional theme of the record and pushes the boundaries sonically into new territory for me.”
