Gingerlys Announce Self-Titled Album + Share “Turtledoves”

Hailing from Brooklyn, NY, Gingerlys are a five-piece indie pop band formed in 2013. The group began when guitarist Matt Richards started sharing acoustic demos of his strummy pop songs with his fellow bandmates in his Valley Stream, NY basement. They released their debut 7″ Jumprope EP with Portland, OR’s Shelflife Records and the group subsequently started to play several shows in and around NYC before settling into writing new material.

ALASKALASKA are a London based art-pop 6 piece. Since 2016 they have been busy cultivating a beautiful groove-laden sound, seamlessly blending jazz, disco, funk and R&B into something totally new and unique. Bandleader and vocalist, Lucinda John-Duarte’s ethereal and otherworldly voice twists brooding and introspective lyrics into hypnotic melodies, which play out alongside rich and intricate arrangements – synthetic beats and live drums, shimmering guitars, pulsing bass, with swirling synths and saxophones rounding it all off.

The enigmatic triple j’s House Party host, artist and songwriter KLP has announced a remix competition with Wavo, giving young producers everywhere the chance to remix her anthemic new banger ‘Melt’. A PENTATONIX CHRISTMAS TOUR

The Boch Center, The Madison Square Garden Company and Live Nation announced that three-time Grammy® Award-winning and multiplatinum selling artists Pentatonix will add a foruth show at the Boch Center Wang Theatre on Saturday, December 16, 2017 at 7:00PM in addition to their previously announced shows on Tuesday, December 12, Wednesday, December 13 and Thursday, December 14 as part of their A Pentatonix Christmas Tour. Sam Amidon Releases New Video

It has been revealed that, within the last few weeks, “Pretty Paper” has been recorded as a last-minute addition for A Love So Beautiful: Roy Orbison With the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra. The album’s release had been previously announced before the session that yielded the addition of “Pretty Paper.” Utilizing Roy’s original 1963 vocal track, the Royal Philharmonic laid down instrumentation for the holiday standard written by Willie Nelson. It joins 15 other Orbison classics tracks that comprise the album. Due out November 3, A Love So Beautiful is to be released through Sony Music’s Legacy Recordings in partnership with Roy’s Boys LLC, the Nashville-based company founded by the late icon’s sons to administer their father’s catalog and safeguard his legacy. Available on CD, vinyl LP and digital formats, this brand-new album infuses Orbison’s best original vocal performances, consisting of hits and fan favorites such as “Oh, Pretty Woman,” “Crying” and “Only the Lonely,” with the emotion and world class musicianship of the Royal Philharmonic, London’s most notable orchestra. Roy’s sons Wesley (guitar), Roy Jr. (guitar) and Alex (drums) provided instrumental backing on selected tracks, along with ten-month-old grandson Roy III (guitar, tambourine).

From the Top receives grant to support chamber music performances

From the Top (FTT), America’s national platform celebrating classically-trained young musicians, is pleased to announce the receipt of a grant from the Association of Chamber Music Players (ACMP).

The $10,000 grant will support the performances of chamber groups on two episodes of NPR’s From the Top with Host Christopher O’Riley, the weekly public radio showcase of talented young classically-trained musicians.

The first ACMP Young Chamber Ensemble will perform on October 1, 2017, in a recording at New England Conservatory’s Jordan Hall in Boston. Trio Giocoso, a piano trio of 12-year-old musicians Eleanor Markey (violin), Oan Woo Park (cello), and Hyeonuk Park (piano) was formed at NEC’s Preparatory School and is coached by Laura Blustein. The young musicians will perform the fourth movement of the Piano Trio in E-flat major Op. 1, No. 1 by Ludwig van Beethoven.
