TETHRA Release Official Video For ‘Like Crows For The Earth’
Tethra say – “The deliberately strong and provocative images you can see in the video are meant to reflect on the indiscriminate exploitation that human beings are doing daily to the damage of the planet hosting us. The track just premiered at UPROXX, who described it as “a track that features classic rock melodies akin to, say, Thin Lizzy, alongside fuzz overdrive that could be an early Cloud Nothings track”. The Norwegian band have made international waves with their energetic rock/power pop in their short history, receiving praise from the likes of NPR Music for their “uncomplicated and infectious,” sound.
When searching through our old VHS tapes, we found some musical treasures from the nineties. One is the Breaking The Rules video that shows Backtrack Lane shooting it, with a mix of black and white « making of » images and the ones of the final result. The video depicts a rock band very close to the boys bands image, and the reality of a shooting when all the band members are opposed to one another.
The self-derision of the band reaches its climax here. They want to provide more than a touch of humour and forget all the codes of rock music : no way to see the band members play together.

Anthology: Movie Themes 1974-1998 is a collection of 13 of Carpenter’s classic movie themes newly recorded with the collaborators that worked on his Lost Themes studio albums and subsequent tours: his son, Cody Carpenter, and godson, Daniel Davies. Anthology… is a near-comprehensive survey of John Carpenter’s greatest themes, from his very first movie (the no-budget sci-fi film Dark Star) to 1998’s supernatural Western, Vampires. Those sit alongside the driving, Led Zeppelin-influenced Assault on Precinct 13 theme, Halloween’s iconic 5/4 piano riff, and the eerie synth work of The Fog. Carpenter and his band also cover Ennio Morricone’s bleak, minimalist theme for The Thing. “I asked Morricone to please compose something with a very few notes,” Carpenter says. “And brilliantly, he did.”
“At the heart of a deep desire for personal and intimate affirmation,” Here To Stay “is a piece claiming the surpassing of the self through effort and energy. the way of an idealistic coach and leader pushing us to keep our fists tight and raised.Unity and contestation, yet also at the heart of the subject, this manifestation addresses any personality abusing its position of strength. This fight, anti-determinism, is among others that of the oppressed against the exploiters. ”

Shot in black and white with heavily contrasted light and shadow, the video is as moody as the song itself.
Born in Hexham, U.K., Jade’s early life was spent mainly in flight as an “army brat,” with time spent in South Wales, Germany and Chesterfield. One of life’s few constants proved to be the influence of strong working women. At first via her mother and grandmother who largely raised her, but later the female role models within the musical subcultures Jade become obsessed with: from troubled but empowering country heroines like Loretta Lynn to iconic alternative songwriters like Patti Smith, and following a thread through folk and Americana to incorporating such confessional, undiluted songwriting into pop music (Alanis Morisette’s Jagged Little Pill was a similarly early touchstone).

The ‘under-the-radar’ influence of this band, and writer/guitarist/vocalist Jeff Waters, has been felt throughout the entire realm of the metal world by a ton of well-known musicians and bands; that influence even stretching into the hard rock and instrumentalist genre.

There’s not much else to do when you’re flat on your back floating in a calm ocean of dilaudid in Alta Bates Hospital in Berkeley. Somewhere up there that commercial about vaginal mesh keeps playing in a loop on the TV. What is vaginal mesh, I wonder as I suck on a lemon flavored sponge cuz I’m hungry but my gut doesn’t work. MUTTS releases heartfelt video for “I’ll Be Around” along with new EP Stick Together
The band also unveiled the heartfelt and compelling new video for the song “I’ll Be Around”. The video was directed by Mutts’ leader Mike Maimone, who is openly gay and had this to say about the meaning and conception behind it: “Coming out can be terrifying. Growing up Catholic, I went into a dark place when I first started to realize I was gay. I closed myself off from people I thought would take issue with it. Some of that ended up being justified, but overall, opening up has allowed me to live a more fulfilling and less exhausting life. I wanted to make a music video that could symbolize the process of getting to this better place. I asked a few of my gay and lesbian friends if they’d act in it, and called all of the churches I could find to see if I could get a Christian representation in the mix. Although for a long time I blamed my religion for my negative feelings and isolation, the principles of love and acceptance are in there. It’s just certain people that pollute the core message. So I wanted to make sure I included that side of the story.”
Although Love Rides A Dark Horse is Landry’s fourth solo album overall, he tells Billboard the writing on this one was different as it was the first since he left Old Crow Medicine Show (with whom Landry won two Grammy Awards): “I was never gonna get the kind of songs that I write and love into that band, so it’s just a natural evolution.”

“For Seattle songwriter Tomo Nakayama, meaning and connection—within what he calls a “broken world”—come both from what’s there right in front of us as well as what’s in absence. Displayed through Nakayama’s signature dulcet vocals along with guitars that sound like chiming bells, the songwriter’s new single, “Bright and Blue,” offers a picture of what’s important: a roaming natural world without anything other than that which bonds a dear, loving relationship.” – The Stranger

Chew borrows the gritty-ness of Fugazi and mixes it with the energy of early At The Drive In while maintaining a certain sensitivity that’s all its own.
