Having lived in Israel from a young age, the Arab Christian admits that she had never considered how her winning a talent competition could be so monumental in opening the eyes of millions around the world to the humbling fact that people are just people. Mista Cain – “Remember When” ft. Boosie Badazz

Known for his honest and plainspoken take on Southern-fried street rap, Baton Rouge’s Mista Cain is a Godfather-like figure in the Bayou rap game. Flashing back to the early ’90s in his latest video, Mista Cain reflects on his childhood in “Remember When.” Intercutting present-day clips of Mista Cain in his neighborhood with dramatized flashbacks of his school days, the video contrasts Mista Cain’s adolescent struggle with his current baller lifestyle. Premiered by VIBE, the video boasts an appearance from fellow Baton Rouge titan Boosie Badazz, who reminisces about growing up without a father in a short but powerful verse. “Remember When” is a highlight from The Verdict, Mista Cain’s official studio debut, which debuted via XXL in March. Featuring appearances from Boosie Badazz, Young Dolph, Starlito, Trouble, and Chrizz Michaels, with production from Mouse On The Track, Jon Boii, June James (Key to the Streets), and others, Tha Verdict is a heartfelt collection of street tales, marked by honest observations, memorable banalities, and frank details about life in Baton Rouge.

The Mendenhall Experiment: Emerging Hard Rockers Inspire By Overcoming Disabilities on Debut EP

The story of The Mendenhall Experiment doesn’t start in 2008 when the band was formed in Southern California. It starts with the birth of founder and guitarist Brandon Mendenhall who was born with cerebral palsy, a neurological condition that affects movement, coordination and balance. It’s an incurable disorder, and one that Brandon has conquered many times in his life, perhaps no more so than living out his lifelong dream of forming a band and getting to tour with the likes of Suicide Silence, John 5, POD, Prong, Smile Empty Soul and Fear Factory. Brandon’s left hand was completely paralyzed but through rehabilitation, he managed to teach himself to play guitar and has been on a mission ever since to bring together a band of quality musicians that are primed for national attention. Like Brandon, bassist Nathan Stockton also overcame his own battle with childhood deafness and vision impairment through music.

“As movement is a bit awkward currently, I played last night seated, but it all went swimmingly and this epic 40th Anniversary tour is now firmly back on the road.
