The inspiration behind the song is about experiencing struggles in life and the decisions one must make during difficult times. Molly Tuttle Rises Up With New Solo EP
Award-winning songwriter and virtuoso instrumentalist Molly Tuttle turns a new corner with Rise, her debut as a solo artist. Produced by Kai Welch, the seven-song EP will be independently released on June 2nd.
Already a familiar face in bluegrass circles and folk festivals, where she’s been performing since the age of eleven, Tuttle widens her reach with Rise. “I wanted to push outside the box,” she says of the EP, whose songs mix the fiery fretwork of her acoustic guitar with banjo, fiddle, drums, pump organ, electric guitar, and other flourishes. “It was a good step to finding my own sound, and not staying tied to the traditional bluegrass sound. I grew up playing bluegrass and I still love it, but I’m influenced by other styles of music, too. I really wanted to create something original.”
A Victim Of Society – “The Quick and the Dead”
“Freaktown” is the sophomore album and lovechild of A Victim Of Society. The sound of rock psychedelia, that the duo used to have, met new band member, Padelis, and his drum kit and together they pushed everything into high gear. The result is “Freaktown”, eight songs full of psychedelic guitars and primal beats recorded with respect to the bands’ live performance and sound.
The album is focused on what happened when the three of them started playing together. The songs that they composed are the soundtrack of all the things they talked about and the things they talked about are found in the lyrics of these songs. They worked on electronic beats, drums, guitars and bass synths and turned them into eight living things. They played every song live, over and over again, in the same obsessive order, until each one of them was alive and ready to be captured in the studio. “Freaktown” is all of these elements together, locked, in the form the band gave them.

Matt Citron Releases New Video For “Save My Soul”
Matt Citron released the video for “Save My Soul,” found on his debut project Final Moments of Forever (Brooklyn Knights/Sony RAL),yesterday via HipHopDX. Directed by Shomi Patwary and shot in NYC’s Lower East Side, the aggressive visuals find Matt channeling the same ferocity heard in his lyrics.
As told to HipHopDX, Matt Citron explains,”I wanted to make sure I captured the aggressive urgency of the song in the video. Honestly my biggest influence for the visual was probably the main chase scene from “The Dark Knight”. I told Shomi, the director, how I wanted to bring it to life, and his team understood exactly what I was envisioning. I rarely give this much insight into my work, but I think it’s obvious that the song is unapologetically human and super in your face. I just had to crank up that feeling even more when it came time to put it into a visual form.”

Portable Sunsets announces new LP, ‘Order’
Portable Sunsets is the project of artist and electronic music producer Peter Segerstrom. Based in Brooklyn, US, he previously released his full-length album ‘Bless’ on Atomnation, an LP as ‘Surfing’ on 1080p and another Portable Sunsets LP on Deadelus’ Magical Property label. ‘Order’ is the follow up of these records and is a dreamy, somewhat lo-fi experimental techno LP.
Combined with an ancient ambient undertone, ‘Order’ is not loosing its club ready vibe. This record floats somewhere between laid-back warehouse techno and the electronica genre – very much representing a unique style: Peter often uses his own voice in his productions, programmed through self-created synths in MAX/MSP. Vocals have become textures and are used as a synth, pad or soundscape.
