The New York Times praises Clear Plastic Masks in The Playlist
“Here’s a neo-psychedelic bash from a Brooklyn-transplanted-to-Nashville band that’s equally raucous and self-conscious, confronting mortality, media and general pandemonium all at once. It’s from the provocatively titled album ‘Nazi Hologram.’ The verses pound one chord into fuzz-toned drone ecstasy; the bridges jump around but come back to that drone.”
I KNOW LEOPARD reveal music video for Rather Be Lonely
A note from the director, Wyatt Winborne – “This video came about very serendipitously. I shot the film in the Spring of 2016, and had been stuck in post production for about 5 months before I realized that it just did not work as a short film. Initially I was disheartened. I had invested a lot of time and energy into this project but still felt entirely dissatisfied with each of the millions of cuts I produced. So, head in hands, I walked away from it. Ithought I would give it time to breathe and that when I came back to it, I would have some sort of revelation that would transform the film. Unfortunately this doesn’t really happen. There’s a lot you can do in editing, but at the same time there’s only so much. After, a few months away from the project however, I was browsing through Indie Shuffle trying to find some new music, and I came across Rather Be Lonely. I instantly knew I had to try to turn the short into a music video. I was convinced it would work. So I messaged the band very unprofessionally through Facebook and they were kind enough to give me a chance. Sure enough, after the first cut I knew the video was finally going to work the way I wanted it to (thanks to the incredible depth of what, on the surface, might sound like a normal pop song). The rest is history.”

This type of music has always been a part of me, but I never showcased it on any kind of bigger level, like a full acoustic record. With EJ, I just decided to be more honest with myself and everybody, and show more of my personal side.”
Johnson, long known for his painstaking approach to making records, used a much more immediate attack for the self-produced EJ. “Almost all of that material was cut live,” Johnson explains. “Some of the songs I actually sang and played at the same time – just live in the studio. Recording this way gave it more of an honest realism and organic emotion. Especially on the acoustic, you just have to get in there and play.”

Rising Country artist Caroline Jones debuts the sassy new music video for her single “Tough Guys” with an exclusive premiere @ AXS.com. The song is off to a very fast start: “Tough Guys” is already #19 on SiriusXm “The Highway” channel.
In the storyline of the video, which was shot at the historic Mack Sennet studios in Los Angeles, Jones interrupts a poker game with a bunch of “Tough Guys” and ends up schooling them on the art of winning – by playing by her own rules.
“Paul Boyd (Shania Twain, Stevie Nicks, Mick Jagger) directed the ‘Tough Guys’ music video,” Jones shares. “He had the vision for the iconic, stylized black and white treatment, which I loved, and we collaborated on the storyline involving the ‘Tough Guys’. I wanted to make sure that the attitude and intention of the song translated visually: I wrote ‘Tough Guys’ about being unapologetically true to yourself, but the lyrics are very tongue-in-cheek and sassy. The song calls out the hypocrites who think you should be different so they can feel better. It is not about seeking approval or winning people over, it’s about expressing who you are fearlessly with the understanding that how other people interpret you has very little to do with you”.
KHIRY oviim Shares “Love, Sex, Dreams”
KHIRY oviim is thrilled to release his newest single “Love, Sex, Dreams.” The music video was premiered yesterday, December 11, 2016 on HipHopDX.
On the surface, KHIRY’s “Love, Sex, Dreams” seems like a bubbly, lightly thumping love song, yet its breezy beats hide a deeper, darker undercurrent. The song was recorded in a home studio atop a church in Washington, DC in collaboration with producer Ryan Bridger. It’s both a love letter for a lost romance and a meditation on the spiritual effects of mind-bending substances. It was largely inspired by a specific trip he underwent with his now ex-girlfriend and the mix of pain and sentimentality that the memory brings. In many ways, this intertwining of joy and sadness is emblematic of the sheer honesty that KHIRY brings to his lyrics.
