BOYO Shares Advance Stream of New EP, ‘Machines’, Via My Old Kentucky Blog
BOYO, the fuzz-pop brainchild of 20 year-old Robert Tilden, was born out of the gradual dissolution of Bobby T. and the Slackers, a project that Tilden had started at age 16.
“Bobby T.” had seen local success after playing raucous sets throughout LA’s D.I.Y. and warehouse circuit with a live lineup featuring Sanam Tiffany (Danger Collective artist “Salmon”) and Cleo Tucker (of Girlpool). Tilden then released a homemade demo-tape in late 2012, getting the project opening slots for L.A. mainstays (Cherry Glazerr, Surf Curse, The Frights, Girlpool) and touring indie acts (La Femme, the DMAs).

The power of nostalgia is in it’s ability to make us long for our former selves. Founded in 2012, Infinity Shred is the sound of a perfect future doomed to relive its past. A forty-third century metropolitan utopia fatally obsessed with analog synths and distorted instruments. Armies of gracefully engineered, doe-eyed warriors mercilessly slaughtering each other under a dusky sky of neon stardust. A trio based in New York City crafting uplifting synth-driven pieces tinged with just the right amount of death.

Jesse Ruben Unveils Politically-Charged Tune “Scared of America”
Philly born, Brooklyn-based singer-songwriter, Jesse Ruben first made waves with his inspiration anthem “We Can.” A triumphant tuned that was inspired by his initiative, The We Can Project, where he was enabled to travel to schools across America to help children believe they can achieve anything they put their minds to. Earlier in the week All Things Go premiered the song “Brutal Dance”. When speaking about the single SIMS said, “I love this beat. I think ICETEP captured some amazing feeling in this one, big rises and falls, sweeping synths, I don’t know, there is just something unique and special about that beat to me. This was the first beat I got for this album, and it was the last song I finished; I wound up turning it in the day before we went to mastering. The song is about immediacy, and that sense of desperation in immediacy. I wrote this in memoriam of some lost friends. Something woke in me when they died. Something fierce and urgent. And I wanted to share that sense of urgency on this song, to share that expression of being relentlessly present and driven to do whatever it is that you want to do.”

Originally, I thought it’d be fun to shoot them in a hell house sort of environment, but then I remembered my favorite most awful video of all time – Journey’s “Separate Ways.” The image of that keyboardist playing his Roland “up the wall”` never left my mind.
