Let True Moon hex you with debut single ‘Voodoo’

‘Voodoo’ is the debut single from Swedish dark wave act True Moon. The minimalistic band is fronted by Karolina Engdahl who´s strong voice both empowers and stand out in a dark and raw musical landscape. The lyrics grasp hold of the listener as Karolina is both self-disclosure and provides the safety and closeness only a mother has the ability to do. As the mystic Malmö based band releases ‘Voodoo’ as their first track, their debut album lures around the corner and will be released the 18th of November. True Moon got the darkness and melodies from the Scandinavian music scene but at the same time hold a foot in the genuine post punk scene from England in the early 80´s. True Moon is the cold breeze that gives us pleasure in our otherwise hell-filled world…

The challenge of accepting love’ (Quote – lyricist – Susana Santos). Last Exit In New York “I Can’t Call You Mine”

Whatever route you take there are signs all around pointing you in the right direction – you just have to take notice. Singer-songwriter Esteban Rivera did. One summer morning in 2013 Rivera trekked from New York to Jersey for a concert celebrating Colombian Independence Day. At the border there was a sign that said he was approaching the last exit in New York. And suddenly it hit him – “I immediately knew that was the name I was looking for,” he explains. The rock band that morphed out of his solo project finally had a moniker, one that would suit the band for years to come. And with their forthcoming EP, Trentmont, Rivera and co. discovered something else: the last exit in New York was actually a highway to something bigger.

Bigger meaning the band is on course to establishing a solid reputation in their current home base of Colombia. In 2015 their song “Take Two” hit #1 on the VivaColombiaTop100 charts. As word spread about their unbridled live shows, they’ve been invited to perform at music festivals in Europe and South America – a long way from the Empire State where the band conceptualized a couple years prior.

DRIVE-BY TRUCKERS RELEASE LYRIC VIDEO FOR “FILTHY AND FRIED”

Drive-By Truckers have released a lyric video for their new song, “Filthy and Fried,” the third offering from the group’s soon-to-be released masterwork American Band. Long-time collaborator Wes Freed created the art for the video; lyrics appear over an animated version of the painting seen in the gatefold of the vinyl version of the new album.

“We had finished recording American Band and were about to mix it when Cooley wrote ‘Filthy and Fried,’ and we all fell in love with the song and felt like it should be included in the album,” says Patterson Hood. “That weekend, DBT was about to do our annual HeAthens Homecoming shows at the 40 Watt Club in Athens GA. We had planned on recording the shows and David Barbe had his mobile recording rig set up so we cut the song live on stage during soundcheck. Two days later we began mixing the album.”
