SKOPE NEWS FOR APRIL 7, 2016

JAMES CAMERON’S CLASSIC THE TERMINATOR STREAMING IN FULL AT CONSEQUENCE OF SOUND

The score to The Terminator, composed by Brad Fiedel (Fright Night, True Lies), is as striking as the title character.

Punctuated with erratic electronic jolts and rapid fire drums giving the impression of pursuit or gunfire, Fiedel’s work has been used in each subsequent Terminator film and has spent many years out of print. Now set to be available once again and re-mastered from the original tapes for the 21st century, the iconic themes and synth-heavy score has finally been mixed and sequenced the way the composer intended the album to be heard. Remastered for vinyl from the original tapes, this release features two 180 gram pressed red and blue splattered vinyl in a double tip-on jacket coating in a reflective UV wrap. The artwork — cover, gatefold, and back art — is all new, created by All City Media.

NOLAY SPILLS “GOTTA LOVE IT”

Now that REVOLT has debuted the first single from Nolay’s upcoming project #GrimeGutsAndGlory this morning, the cheeky British rapper is ready to unleash it upon the rest of the world. Not familiar? You soon will be. As a pioneer of the UK’s Grime scene, Nolay has already lyrically stomped her way across her homeland and Europe so the land across the pond is the next logical step. Produced by Kid D, “Gotta Love It” is a fun romp through Nolay’s Cockney vocabulary on which she makes it clear she is not to be messed with in the booth. Revolt put it best when they called it “Gotta Love It”

ALL HUMAN NEW SINGLE

Progressive indie duo All Human has recently released their new album Teenagers, You Don’t Have To Die and today they’ve teamed up with Idobi Radio to offer a free download of the single “I’m Afraid”.

“That is the first song I ever wrote fully on piano,” says vocalist Adam Fisher. “I was quite excited. Its a very simple progression, but Id never really done that before. Lyrically its just about feeling like you’ll never get to do all the things you want to do. When writing i just kind of locked myself away all day every day and was feeling that isolation. It also preys on the whole nostalgia thing. Missing running around in the woods and catching snakes and climbing trees. We grow up and lose touch with some of our values we held when we were kids.”

ANDREW MCMAHON SHARES HIS STORY ON HIS ROAD THROUGH SURVIVING CANCER

In his new mini-documentary AM10: THE LONG WAY BACK HOME, Andrew McMahon talks about his journey in dealing with the hurdles of recovery post-cancer. “You start by getting your body better but nobody prepares you for what it does to your mind,” states McMahon. AM10: THE LONG WAY BACK HOME which premiered on VEVO last week, comes in the wake of McMahon’s 10th Anniversary of being cancer free and establishing the Dear Jack Foundation which advocates for and supports initiatives that benefit young adults diagnosed with cancer. Hearing the words, “you have cancer” for the first time doesn’t prepare adolescent and young adult (AYA) cancer survivors for all that is to follow in the wake of those three words. Physical, emotional and financial hardships often persist for years after treatment and without protocols or resources that specifically address the needs of this population.
