NEW MGMT FROR STING
It was announced today that Martin Kierszenbaum, chairman and owner of the Cherrytree Music Company has been named as Sting’s new manager. Kierszenbaum and Sting have had an incredibly successful relationship working together on the label side for 25 years. Now, as longtime manager Kathryn Schenker announces her retirement, Kierszenbaum is looking forward to working with Sting in this new role: “I’ve had the honor of working with Sting and Kathryn for 25 years while serving as the Chairman of Cherrytree Records and Senior A&R Executive at Interscope Records. I’m positively thrilled to have the opportunity to continue to look after Sting in this new capacity.”
Composer, singer, actor, author, and activist – Sting was born in Newcastle, England before moving to London in 1977 to form The Police with Stewart Copeland and Andy Summers. The band released five studio albums, earned six Grammy Awards and two Brits, and was inducted into The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2003.
SOUTHFORK RANCH TO HOST “TEXAS’ TRIBUTE TO ELVIS” MARCH 4 – 6, 2016
The iconic Southfork Ranch of TV’s “Dallas” series fame will host “Texas’ Tribute to Elvis,” the state’s official Elvis Presley Enterprise licensed festival, Friday, March 4, through Sunday, March 6, 2016. Elvis fans from around the globe are expected to converge at Southfork for the three-day extravaganza celebrating the life of one of America’s most revered entertainers.
The festival will feature performances by some of the world’s best Elvis tribute artists, winners of Elvis Presley Enterprises’ “Ultimate Elvis Tribute Artist Contest.” Cody Ray Slaughter, star of “Million Dollar Quartet” on Broadway, is the 2011 World Champion and the youngest man to hold the title. Bill Cherry, the 2009 champion, will both perform.

RIKKI ROCKETT DOING BETTER
Rikki Rockett, drummer of Poison, Devil City Angels and President of Rockett Drum Works, has been in the news a lot lately. After he announced on Eddie Trunk’s radio show, Hair Trunk Nation (Sirius XM channel 39), last week that he had recently finished treatments for oral cancer, the news spread like wildfire.
But while fans and media are sending good wishes and prayers to Rikki, there is one fact they seem to be omitting: Rikki is don with treatments and recovering very well. As Rikki told Eddie Trunk live on the air, and as he has said repeatedly on his Facebook, Instagram and Twitter pages is that he is “All done with treatments and doing fine!”
Rikki recently posted to his Facebook page, “… people seem to have my situation a little confused. Let me be clear… I am done with treatments. I am recovering and recovering very well. I do not know 100% if I am cancer free yet until I get my PET Scan, but all signs so far point to remission.”
