LANGUAGE ARTS PREMIERE U.S. DEBUT ALBUM ‘ABLE ISLAND’
Able Island was recorded in 2014 on what Kristen Cudmore (guitar), Neil MacIntosh (Drums/Percussion) and Joel Visentin (Keys/Synth Bass) call their “floating studio”, during a Trans-Canada tour in basements, hotel rooms, alleyways, and the back of their van, using homemade microphones, capturing the sounds of wind blowing down a stove pipe, the crackling of a fireplace, the voices of their audience, making reverb chambers out of large soup pots, and mixing as they drove through the Rocky Mountains. Produced by Language Arts, the songs were handed off to their kindred collaborator Darryl Neudorf (Neko Case/The Sadies) to mix, and Peter Moore (Neko Case/Neil Young/Joni Mitchell/Sloan) to master.

Conceived out of a deep love for classic rock and all things heavy, the metalcore band Disruption has released their debut single “Skylines” via Alternative Press. The band recruited Shawn Milke from Alesana for song and video, which was shot by Paradyme Pix. The song was engineered in Portland with Stephan Hawkes who is known for his work with Attila, Chelsea Grin, Jonny Craig and more.

LIFE IS GOOD AND TROMBONE SHORTY FOUNDATION SURPRISE HIGH SCHOOLERS WITH NEW INSTRUMENTS, EQUIPMENT AND PERFORMANCE
Two hundred students at Warren Easton Charter High School were surprised by a visit from one its most famous graduates Monday, who arrived with the message that life is good. Musician Troy “Trombone Shorty” Andrews, on behalf of the Trombone Shorty Foundation, and John Jacobs, co-founder of lifestyle brand Life is Good, joined forces to donate trombones, trumpets and equipment to the high school’s music department.
The event was part of Life is Good’s 8-week nationwide Optimism Tour, which is reaching 40 communities across the country to help raise and distribute over $1M for kids in need.
Following the instrument donation, Jacobs spoke to the students at Warren Easton about how the power of optimism can fuel success in life. To close out the day, Trombone Shorty and the New Breed Brass Band joined the Warren Easton Charter High School Band for a rousing performance.

The United States Marine Drum & Bugle Corps has partnered with Music for All and will offer support for all its events including Bands of America Regional and Super Regional Marching Championships, Bands of America Grand National Championships, Music for All National Festival, Music for All National Chamber Festival and Music for All Summer Symposium.
