Having just released her debut EP ‘Shell’ which was recorded at Paul Epworth’s Church studio in London, Adria played her debut album at the launch in her home city, Perth. This was her first time performing the Shell EP in its entirety to a live audience. Adria launched her debut EP at Jimmy’s Den Northbridge on Saturday May 16th with special guests Lilt, GRRL Pal & Velveteen.
Named after the Adriatic Sea and growing up on the West Coast, she feels a deep connection to the water and draws influence from its many splendoured qualities, from the glassy and calm to the dramatic and turbulent in her approach to writing sophisticated pop.
After releasing her first track ‘Pull Me Under’ only late last year, Adria won favour with a host of taste making music media online. Accompanied by a water themed music video, she won Channel V’s artist of the month with her debut single being described as a “hypnotic piece of Alt-Pop.”– Pilerats.
