A-1 “GOOD PEOPLE” VIDEO
Life can move so fast that it’s hard to stop and appreciate those that populate our surroundings. Described by FACT Mag as “a smooth-as-hell groover that explores stereotypes and assumptions,” “Good People” is the latest music video from rising Bay area rapper, A-1. “Good People” is a unique visual experience filmed on a phantom camera at 1400fps. The special effect created by this technique shows people standing in a frozen state as the camera continuously moves from the sunny streets of San Francisco to the bustling energy of Oakland bus stops. The video is the latest offering from A-1’s upcoming album Thurlian, releasing March 5, 2015.

“DETROIT VS EVERYBODY” LYRIC VIDEO
Detroit Vs Everybody gets a new lyric video. Watch it after the jump.
WILLODEAN “GLASS BOTTOM BOAT”
Willodean isn’t a mainstream moniker. It’s an anachronistic name, one for a band that chronicles longing, loneliness, and lost loves.
Willodean’s self-titled debut album exposes someone as afraid of finding love as losing it. Dan Barrett’s gravelly baritone has a toughness suited to — maybe rooted in — the vulnerability of the lyrics. Producer Eric Holden’s upright bass resonates with sturdy, near-ancient melodies. Guitarist/pianist Randy Wooten’s lyrics evoke a dreamy world of misgiving and missed chances.
Yet the band discovers a playfulness in the songs, a confounding curveball that makes the album fun.

RikRok and Bob Marley and The Wailers’ “Three Little Birds.” In its first week of release “Oh Jah Jah” also peaked at #1 on iTunes Reggae Single Chart.

SONS OF TEXAS PREMIERE NEW SONG “NEVER BURY THE HATCHET”
Sons Of Texas was spawned in McAllen, Texas, a valley town without the music legacy of Austin or Arlington. The scene vibes “music for music’s sake” with metalcore bands, blues-rock bands, and straight up rock n’ roll bands swapping members and sharing bills. BEAR’S DEN’S “AGAPE” VIDEO STREAMING WORLDWIDE AT VEVO
Shot on Bantham Beach on a blustery January day, the video explores the theme of a relationship’s demise. Of the concept Kevin Jones (vocals, drums) explains “I thought slowly sinking into the sand only to be engulfed in waves summed that up well, the feeling of inevitability brought on by your own thoughts and the sensation of restriction that can manifest itself in those situations. The song is quite bright musically but I wanted to think of something that counterpointed that and fell in line more with the lyrics than the music.”

JOSÉ GONZÁLEZ’S NEW ALBUM ON NPR
Beginning today, José González fans can finally hear his new record in its entirety via NPR’s First Listen. In its review, NPR says, “Gonzáez’s songs are slight little creations, with minimal words encapsulating big ideas and breezy pop melodies disguising weighty notions about life’s endlessly refracting illusions.” The album, Vestiges & Claws, (Mute) will be released next week on February 17. Two weeks ago, Pitchfork premiered the album’s second video, “Leaf Off/The Cave” which has received almost 58,000 views and the song is already getting tremendous support from KCRW, World Café, KEXP, and WFUV at radio.
DARK WAVE “TELL THE TRUTH”
Christopher Lakes and Matty, better known as Dark Wave, may consider themselves the freshmen of the year, but don’t call them rookies. The tandem from Virginia released their Dark Elegance album in December of last year, but until now the project’s bonus joint “Tell The Truth” was only available on the retail version. The bonus track is now available for streaming.

RAINDEAR—AKA Rebecca Bergcrantz is both the dangling vines that block your view and your bright light at the end of the tunnel.

You can expect more music from Lyfe and collaborations from the pair in the near future.
