This is the new project from “energetic, dexterous” (Prefix Magazine) Ween drummer, Claude Coleman Jr., who you might also know from his work with Eagles of Death Metal, Chocolate Genius, and with musical luminaries including John Medeski (Medeski Martin and Wood) and Jeff Pinkus (Butthole Surfers). With features on Brooklyn Vegan, Relix Magazine, NPR, and The New York Times, amandla’s “shimmering, buoyant sound driven by propulsive percussion, winding keys, and churning pop rock guitars” (Speak Into My Good Eye) is on the verge of breaking out nationally.
