NEW VIDEO BY ROADKILL CHOIR

Florida-based band Roadkill Ghost Choir have a new music video for their song “Slow Knife,” which premiered on Stereogum yesterday. Lead singer Andrew Shepard commented on the filming process and final product: “I sat in a bathtub full of black liquid for 5 hours so you can enjoy this 4 minute video. I do these things because I care about you.” The video was directed by Justin Hayward and shot in Chicago. Watch the video for “Slow Knife” below.

The band have also announced additional tour dates for the last few months of 2014, including dates added in December on the west coast.

ALEX G SHARES NEW VIDEO VIA NOISEY

Alexander Giannascoli, aka Alex G, is a 21-year-old multi-instrumentalist and native of Philadelphia who has been writing songs as far back as he can remember. Following a slew of recordings he self-released over the years through his Bandcamp page, Alex spent 2013 writing and recording a proper, full-length record titled DSU, which was released on June 17th via Orchid Tapes.

CHARLIE MARS LAUNCHES HEADLINE TOUR

Charlie Mars kicks off his fall 2014 headline tour tonight at Revolution Music Room in Little Rock, AR – and he’s bringing a whole new batch of songs and stories with him. The Oxford, Mississippi native is touring in support of his new album, The Money, which will be released on October 14 by Rockingham Records via Thirty Tigers. As a nod to the support he’s received from the Lone Star state, Charlie will play a two-night album release party (October 17 & 18) at Threadgill’s in Austin. The Money completes his Texas trilogy – it was recorded at Sonic Ranch outside of El Paso while Blackberry Light and Like A Bird, Like A Plane were cut in Austin.

DAVEY HAVOK & JADE PUGET FORM XTRMST

AFI lead vocalist Davey Havok and guitarist Jade Puget have announced a November 18 release for XTRMST, the self-titled debut album from the duo’s new straight-edge hardcore band. The first single from the album, “Conformist,” will be available this coming Tuesday, October 7. In conjunction with this announcement, the pair have posted a brand new album track online called “Words For The Unwanted.”

“Jade and I have been talking about starting a straight edge hardcore band for years,” says Havok. “We started writing and recording in early 2012 and chose the name XTRMST because it expresses the messages represented on the record. The straight edge movement is not one of moderation. It’s based in undeniable objective truths.”

Fiancé will release their debut EP, titled EP 1, on October 7 via SQE.
