Their new EP, released on Jack White’s Third Man Records, possesses an infectious, stripped-down sound combining elements of blues-rock and garage rock, that aligns the foursome with rising artists like J Roddy Walston And The Business and The Alabama Shakes. All tracks on Gone Baby Gone were produced by Steve Jordan, except for single “Mansion on a Hill,” which was produced by QOTSA’s Josh Homme.

Boston’s melodic hardcore group, Vanna has premiered a new music video for their song “Personal Cross” here. Vanna will also be embarking on a nationwide tour this fall with Beartooth. The video evokes the song’s sentiments about going to Los Angeles in order to see dreams come to fruition, and the stumbling blocks many meet along the way. Lace Curtains (aka Michael “Coomers” Coomer) himself makes a cameo as the MC.

Brisbane’s Sheppard are continuing to build on a stellar 2014 after managing to achieve such milestones as the highest selling Australian single for 2014 with “Geronimo”- which is now rapidly climbing international charts worldwide, sold-out headline shows at London’s Barfly, New York’s Webster Hall and LA’s The Lyric Studio, and festival performances at V Fest and Electric Picnic in the UK.

NYC indie pop outlet Gospels is Alex Frenkel, Mike Gordon, Alex Marans, Gabe Garzón-Montano and Owen Murphy. In 2012, the band released a set of demos titled the Animal Feelings EP which generated some early momentum and ultimately propelled them into a semi-reclusive state. Taking up residence under one roof in Forest Hills, NY, they set about building their house into a 3-floor recording studio, where they have recorded their first EP. Gospels has been hard at work in their basement meticulously dissecting and reconstructing their sonic palate, song repertoire and live show.

Behind every musical overnight sensation are years of toiling away in rehearsal halls, recording studios and sweaty nightclubs meticulously honing one’s craft. In trumpeter Joey Sommerville’s case, it’s more than two decades of writing, recording and touring to cultivate his following and establish his presence on the national scene. On October 28, the award-winning soul-jazz musician, songwriter and producer will release a new collection of songs that he’s been working on as far back as 1993 that will comprise his fifth album, “Overnight Sensation,” slated for release on his Jayvox imprint. The title track will crank up the party when it is serviced to radio stations for airplay at the end of this month.

THE PREATURES ON BUZZFEED
Sydney, Australia’s The Preatures have released a gorgeous new music video for their single, “Somebody’s Talking.” Directed by Gemma Lee, the video, which premiered today at Buzzfeed, was inspired by the coming-of-age Australian drama series Puberty Blues. The surfing scenes were shot in Sydney’s northern beaches during a week of wild weather. The band’s ill-attended concert was shot at Bondi Bowling Club.
PEPPER ANNOUNCES U.S. HEADLINE TOUR
This national headline tour is in support of their most recent self-titled album that was released in the latter months of 2013 via The Island Def Jam Music Group. Their single “F**k Around” peaked at #19 on the Alternative Chart, which is the band’s highest charting song to date. Broadening beyond the surf rock that they have been known for, the band challenged themselves and ultimately made what they consider to be their best record to date. From the feel good, head-nodding “Deep Country” to the sunshine-filled jam “Hunny Girl” to the radio-friendly anthem “F**k Around (All Night)”, Pepper really expands the band’s palette. The popular tune, now outfitted with the fine vocal distinction of Assassin, emphasizes the protective nature a father has for his little girl. Agent Sasco directs his lyrics toward the suitor of his daughter, “well 1st of all you need to check your attitude.
