Grammy and Brit Award winning musician Midge Ure, OBE (Officer of the British Empire – awarded in 2005) will be releasing his first album of original material in over a decade next week, via eOne Music. The album, entitled Fragile is now streaming at Billboard.com. In suport of Fragile, Midge will be playing select N. American solo acoustic dates in addition to being part of The Retro Futura Tour which also features Tom Bailey, Howard Jones, Katrina (of the Waves) and China Crisis. The tour kicks off in New York City at Best Buy Theater on August 21st.

WIZ KHALIFA SIGNS WITH INGROOVES MUSIC GROUP
Taylor Gang Records, the label founded by hip hop superstar Wiz Khalifa, announced today that they have selected INgrooves for global distribution and marketing. The first release expected under the new deal is an EP by the Pittsburgh-based rapper Chevy Woods who’s currently making noise with his single “30 Deep,” which is getting airplay on radio across the country and on MTV. Other artists on the label include Academy Award winner and Three 6 Mafia member Juicy J, who is also an executive at the label, Ty Dolla $ign, Courtney Noelle, Chevy Woods, Tuki Carter and Berner.

Legendary guitarist Johnny Marr has released “Easy Money” – the first single from his upcoming album Playland due out October 7 via Warner Music Group. Following a first listen on BBC 6 Music, Marr premiered the track’s video via Pitchfork. BEN HARPER TO PERFORM BENEFIT SHOW FOR NEW LIGHT INDIA
Internationally renowned recording artist Ben Harper will headline a Sept. 19 fundraiser for the nonprofit New Light India at the New York Society for Ethical Culture. “An Acoustic Evening with Ben Harper” benefits the organization’s community development of the “Boys Home Project” based in Kalighat, India. The Force Film Foundation is producing the event through partnership with the nonprofit, Lend Your Hands.
Founded in 2000 by Urmi Basu, New Light India provides shelter, educational opportunities, recreational facilities, healthcare and legal aid for the girls and women in Kalighat, notorious for its red light district.

Sister rock-trio HAIM have premiered their new music video for “My Song 5 (feat. A$AP Ferg)” exclusively on VEVO. MAGGIE ROGERS SINGLE ON HUFFPO
A Maryland native, 20-year-old Maggie Rogers is a sound addict. She spent the summer of 2011 studying at the prestigious Berklee College of Music in Boston, MA where she won the 2011 Songwriting Competition. Maggie self-released her first album, “The Echo” while completing high school in May of 2012. Now attending the Clive Davis Institute of Recorded Music at NYU, she released her second record, “The Response” with the help of her new creative classmates. Maggie’s new record Blood Ballet, released in June 2014, documents the events in her life since moving to New York City.
