CABINET OF WONDERS SALON PREMIERES NEW VIDEO FOR “GOODBYE JANE”
Salon is premiering a new animated video by the acclaimed graphic designer and illustratror Stefan G. Bucher for the song “Goodbye Jane” from Stace’s album Self-Titled—out last year. A studio performance of the the song serves as the basis for Bucher’s video and features rotoscoped animation—a technique that involves hand-tracing over film footage, frame by frame. Huffer was formed amidst the flat lands of Los Angeles in late 2013. The core of Huffer is Sam Donahue and Robert Cody. Zumi Rosow of the K-Holes and Black Lips has written and recorded saxophone for all of their releases. Together, the weirdo rock duo envisions harsh krauty repetitions along with tasteful minimalism, setting themselves apart from the standard embodiment of Los Angeles as a city of endless sun and relentless pop. Drawing influences from unusual classics, Neil Young and Bruce Springsteen, as well as more fitting altrock freaks The Jesus Lizard, and The Dead C. Huffer released an 8 song tape in early 2014 and has been working on recording material for an EP and a full length.
