EGYPT CENTRAL SET TO POST ‘MURDER IN THE FRENCH QUARTER’
By overwhelming demand from their loyal fans, EGYPT CENTRAL is releasing MURDER IN THE FRENCH QUARTER August 19 on Fat Lady Music via online retail outlets worldwide. It’s a seven-song collection featuring two never-before-released songs, as well as five demo versions of songs from their only two albums, EGYPT CENTRAL and WHITE RABBIT. A producer as well as an emcee, Rey has cultivated his own distinctive sound which he dubs, “Old Rust New Bang,” by layering heavy beats and nostalgic samples with cool, laid-back vocals.

With their infectious mix of barroom swagger and twang, Scruffy the Cat helped usher in the alt-country movement. As Sony Music prepares a digital-only August reissue of the material the band recorded for Relativity Records, Omnivore Recordings is proud to supplement that set with its own The Good Goodbye: Unreleased Recordings 1984-1990, featuring music dating from the band’s origin to their final, unissued sessions (all recorded at Memphis’ legendary Ardent Studios).
