PHOEBE HUNT & THE GATHERERS FEATURING CONNOR FORSYTH WALK HARD ON NEW ALBUM
The rambling instinct of a troubadour burns within the soul of singer-songwriter-fiddler Phoebe Hunt, who, in recent years, has hopped from Austin to Nashville to Brooklyn. This wanderlust is evident in her music, which effortlessly blends country, swing, jazz, folk, and pop on her new album with The Gatherers featuring Connor Forsyth, Walk with Me, due out Aug. 26, 2014.
The record is composed of 11 original songs written with longtime collaborator Connor Forsyth, a multi-instrumentalist who has toured with Ray Price and fronted his own band, The Ghosts Along the Brazos – the two artists met while part of Americana band The Belleville Outfit and have been writing and performing together for more than six years. The album also includes colleagues Marshall Hood, Kris Wade, and Robb Kidd, who provide rock-solid, genre-blending backing for Hunt and Forsyth as they play off one another on songs like the pleading title track, in which the singers beg for companionship, or the playful country toetapper “Walk of Angeline.”
POSTCARDS FROM JEFF “A HOUSE”
Life in the sticks can be seriously strange. From Myxomatosis-stricken rabbits to agoraphobic house parties, Postcards From Jeff offers a brutally honest perspective of looking out from windswept valleys to neighboring city lights. Making a U.S. launch with the single, “A House,” the song is taken from the melodic explorer’s recent self-titled debut EP.

K SPARKS VIDEO “1985”
You won’t find too many rappers sharing family history stories that include issues like dealing with illness but that’s exactly what sets Queens emcee and DJ Booth favorite K Sparks apart. He knows that to truly tell a story folks can relate to you have to bare it all. It’s no secret that Jamaica, Queens is no picnic as far as childhoods go and when you lose your mother to breast cancer the journey isn’t made any easier but in the visual for “1985”, from his upcoming project, “Vintage Art”, K Sparks also reminds us that with perseverance and hope, everything can be overcome.
