YOU BLEW IT! COVER WEEZER
Orlando, FL’s You Blew It! are premiering a track off their upcoming 5-track Weezer covers EP titled, You Blue It on Stereogum.
Frontman/guitarist Tanner Jones says, “We chose Surf Wax because it’s a really great song, plain and simple. We didn’t want to do singles from the record, and luckily Surf Wax is one of those cuts that could have held its own as one, but seemed untouched enough to allow a fresh perspective on it. Not that we or any other band could, but we really didn’t want to try and out-do Weezer. Our goal was to add our touch to Blue, but first and foremost, we wanted pay tribute to the songs themselves in the most respectful way possible. Surf Wax is a great example of that I think.”

NEW SINGLE BY TAPES
TAPES was conceived as a creative release from the monotony of daily life. In 2011, the mysterious producer left his hometown of Knoxville for an internship opportunity in San Francisco. In the following summer, he fell off the grid to write expansive, blissed-out soundscapes that stimulated his TAPES project. The sound of TAPES is elusive and mood-based, blanketed in clouds of atmospheric textures and driven by escalating tempos that demonstrate the powerful relationship between tension and release.

JAY BLAZE VIDEO “PUFF DADDY”
Today is a double release day for Cali native Jay Blaze as he unleashes both his brand new EP, “Haterz Stay Back” on iTunes as well as the visual to “Puff Daddy”, the EP’s second track. Funny thing about that “Puff Daddy” song. Being a Los Angeles resident with the priviledge of being all up in the mix has its benefits. Jay was able not only to get the song to Puff’s team, but to get feedback from the man himself. Word is, he digs it and looks forward to seeing the video, which debuts on HipHopDX today.

NEW VIDEO BY DOPRAH
Today Doprah release their video for the track “Stranger People”. The video premiered in the US at SPIN Magazine, who described the video as follows:
“Apparently taking a cue from Kyary Pamyu Pamyu, our young heroes appear as tiny weirdos in a neon-dipped dollhouse, accompanied by creepily masked dancers-as-anime-characters (word to Le1f). Indira eventually becomes some sort of kawaii princess, and Marr appears as the lost male member of Sailor Moon’s crew. Awesome. As for the song, it strikes a gauzy balance between the gothy inclinations of fellow Kiwi Lorde, the noirish husk of Portishead, and the curious mood-making of cloud-rap. Compare to or call it whatever you want — Doprah have got their own wild thing going on, and Ms. Force is aptly named.” – SPIN
