“A Midsummer Evening” is the first track to be taken from Tiersen’s new album, ∞ (Infinity), out May 2oth, 2014. “A Midsummer Evening,” dense with manipulated textures, strings and choral chanting, began, as the album did, as little more than noise from toys. The initial recordings took place in Iceland and are explained here by Tiersen: “The idea was to start with toy instruments as a reference to my early works, then manipulate the sounds electronically. Then I added a new layer of acoustic instrumentation, and repeated the same process. Finally I repeated the process once more with strings, so the whole album was a constant back and forth from acoustic to electronic to digital, and then back to analogue.”

JAMES IHA COMPOSES SCORE FOR HULU ORIGINAL SERIES “DEADBEAT”
Musician and producer James Iha has composed the score for the Hulu Original Series “Deadbeat,” a supernatural comedy co-produced by Hulu and Lionsgate Television set to premiere on April 9th. In addition to his scoring work, James remains busy as a performing musician. In early May, he will play LA’s Greek Theatre in A Perfect Circle, with whom he has been a member since 2002. He is also playing the legendary Fuji Rock Festival in Japan this summer as a solo artist.
You can hear the Deadbeat title theme song HERE. On scoring the series, Iha says “The creative process is about scoring chords and emotion to a picture which is completely different than creating music within a song. It’s a different side of the musical brain. The picture is created by the director and the writers, so this truly is a collaborative process.” All episodes of the show will be available on Hulu Plus on April 9th. EMINEM & RIHANNA TOUR TO SELL OUT FAST
Even though tickets don’t officially go on sale to the general public until Friday, Eminem and Rihanna are topping sales charts on the secondary ticket market with their “Monster” tour. The tour takes its name from “The Monster,” the October 2013 follow-up release to the duo’s August 2010 smash hit, “Love the Way You Lie.”
The 2014 tour is appearing in only three venues, with two shows each, and secondary ticket market sales have already been strong. The debut single “We Are Infinite” (Dave Aude remix) from Starling Glow has been rocketing up the Billboard Dance Club Songs chart with a bullet, making its Top 20 chart debut. Starling Glow recently signed with the newly formed independent LA-based record label Trailblaze Music Group, and will release their full-length studio album later this year. The “We Are Infinite” album version will see its Top 40 release towards the end of April.
