JUSTIN BIEBER WORKING ON NEW ALBUM

Justin Bieber confirmed that he is currently in the planning and recording stages for his next album.   Usher’s protégé is taking time to craft a unique record, telling MTV News that his voice “is not meant for any style.” There are no set deadlines for work on the album, which Bieber hopes will be “huge.” For more, check out MTVNews.com.

BLACK EYED PEAS TO RELEASE VIDEOGAME

The Black Eyed Peas unveiled plans for a new videogame called The Black Eyed Peas Experience. According to AllHipHop.com, the group is working with Ubisoft to develop the game, which will feature tracks like “Boom, Boom, Pow” and “Let’s Get It Started.” The Black Eyed Peas Experience will be available for Xbox 360, Wii and PlayStation 3 and is scheduled for release later this year.

BORN THIS WAY BACK ON TOP IN THE U-K

Lady Gaga once again has the number one album in the U-K with her latest release, Born This Way.   According to GagaDaily.com, the pop star is back at the summit, moving up from third place, and holding off Bon Iver’s new album as well as Adele’s 21.   Born This Way has now sold 400-thousand copies in the U-K alone.

GAGA PERFORMS AT THE JAPAN VMA’S

KATY PERRY CHALLENGES MJ’S CHART RECORD

Katy Perry has been having so much chart success recently that she’s approaching sacred ground — she could soon tie a record set by the late Michael Jackson.   According to Billboard.com, the pop star’s latest single, “Last Friday Night (T.G.I.F.),” off of her album, Teenage Dream, is sitting at number four on the Hot 100 chart.   If it reaches number one, she’ll become only the second person, and first woman, to score five number one songs off of one album in the chart’s 52-year history.   The other, of course, being MJ, who had five number ones off of 1987’s Bad.   Read more at Billboard.com.

ADELE MISSES CHANCE TO PERFORM WITH BEYONCE

Adele may have missed out on the chance of a lifetime.   According to British paper The Sun, the pop star was offered the chance to perform with her idol, Beyonce, over the weekend at Glastonbury, but wasn’t able to because she’s still healing from a voice injury that caused her to cancel her North American tour.   A source told the paper that Adele was “absolutely gutted” to miss out on the opportunity, and that she hopes “one day they can do something together.”

Over the weekend, The Script played a couple of shows to tens-of-thousands of people in South Africa.   Here’s what drummer Glen Power had to say about it via the band’s Twitter page (@TheScript) — “What a stunning gig in Cape Town, the energy in that room was out of this world! Cape Town, we’ll be back! Thanx 4 a great nite!!”

SWIFT SHARES BEAUTY SECRETS WITH ALLURE

Taylor Swift recently answered fan questions about beauty through Allure magazine’s Facebook page. When it comes to keeping her skin healthy, Taylor says she puts on night cream in the morning before she puts on her make-up and again at night before bed. She avoids tanning beds and says she “doesn’t mind being pale” and gets “bored” lying out in the sun. Taylor says about her nightly routine, “I take my contacts out, wash my face, put on night cream and put on my glasses so I can watch Friends.”

SWIFT, UNDERWOOD AMONG MOST POPULAR ON THE WEB

According to research by Coed magazine, a couple of country cuties have made their way onto this year’s list of the 50 Most Popular Women on the Web. Carrie Underwood ranked at number 47 this year while Taylor Swift dropped to number 18 on the list after ranking 12th last year. Topping this year’s list is pop-star Lady Gaga at number one with more than 578-million search results on the web.

LADY A MENTOR ROLLING STONE CONTEST FINALIST

Lady Antebellum recently sat down with one of the finalists in Rolling Stone’s Do You Wanna Be A Rock & Roll Star? Contest. Leila Broussard and Canadian-based band The Sheepdogs are the final two artists left in the competition, which awards the winner a contract with Atlantic Records and a spot on the cover of the August 18th issue of Rolling Stone magazine. Lady A met with Leila and shared advice on everything from songwriting, to style and fame. Charles Kelley told her, “We worked so hard in our first two years, all I can say is, it will get easier.” Kid Rock took time out of his schedule to mentor The Sheepdogs backstage at one of his shows. LEONA LEWIS TO SELL HOME

MOGUAI TO RELEASE BRITNEY SPEARS REMIX

German DJ and producer Moguai is set to release remixes of Britney Spears’ latest single, “I Wanna Go.”   He will also be releasing a remix of Afrojack’s club hit, “Bangduck,” early next month.   Soon, Moguai will release a Beatport Elements pack, which will provide producers with the individual components of his tracks, perfect for remixing and live DJing.   Pick up Moguai’s debut album, We Ar Lyve, in stores and online.

ELECTRIC DAISY CARNIVAL DANCES TO THE BIG SCREEN IN AUGUST!

Renowned electronic music festival Electric Daisy Carnival will be making its big screen debut on August 4th with a feature-length film capturing live performances from David Guetta, Deadmau5, will.i.am, Moby and more. Electric Daisy Carnival Experience will be shown for one night only at over 520 movie theaters nationwide. EL DEBARGE OUT OF RE-HAB, PREPS ESSENCE FESTIVAL

According to SingersRoom.com, while in February, El DeBarge suffered a relapse of substance abuse, he has since left rehab after and is reportedly back on track.   The singer is scheduled to perform at the main stage during the upcoming 2011 Essence Music Festival. The showcase marks his first concert performance in almost five months.

T-PAIN DROPS NEW VIDEO

According to his official fansite, T-Pain has released the visuals to his new single, “Booty Work (One Cheek At a Time).” The Erik White-directed clip includes a cameo from comedian Kevin Hart as his rap alter ego, “Chocolate Droppa.” The song is off Pain’s upcoming album, rEVOLVEr, which will be released later this year.
