JUSTIN BIEBER ATTACK BLOWN OUT OF PROPORTION
Yesterday, we reported that Justin Bieber was attacked by a fan outside of Macy’s in New York City. Today, more details emerged and it seems that it was a misunderstanding. Billboard is reporting that an undercover cop was mistaken for a crazed fan during the singer’s public appearance in New York. The 17-year-old arrived at Macy’s in Manhattan’s Herald Square to debut his new fragrance, Someday. As he left the store, the crowd outside went wild and an undercover police officer stepped forward to protect the singer from the surging mass of people. The plainclothes cop was mistaken for a crazed fan and was quickly restrained by one of Bieber’s bodyguards. Now, we’ve learned that Bieber was not touched or hurt during the confusion yesterday. Shortly after the incident, Justin went back into Macy’s and signed autographs and met with fans.
DEV RELEASES “IN THE DARK” TEASER CLIP
Dev will premiere her video for “In The Dark” on July 7th. “In The Dark” is the first single off her upcoming debut album, The Night The Sun Came Up, which is due out on September 20th. SHWAYZE DROPS “LOVE LETTER”
Shwayze has released the video for “Love Letter” featuring The Cataracs & Dev. The song is a nod to the lost art of writing a girl a love letter. Meanwhile, Shwayze and Cisco Adler are currently previewing a new track on their website. The song, “Drunk Off Your Love,” which features LMFAO’s Sky Blu, is a taste of what’s to come off their new album, Island In The Sun, which is due on August 16th.

BLACK EYED PEAS ADD ONE U-S TOUR DATE
The Black Eyed Peas will perform at the Merriweather Post Pavilion in Columbia, Maryland on Saturday, July 30th. The show is the only U-S date on their current tour schedule. The band recently had to cancel their free concert in Central Park in New York City due to bad weather. The Peas have shows in France, Germany, Belgium and the U-K, before they wrap things up in Maryland. The Black Eyed Peas are looking into rescheduling the Central Park gig, we’ll keep you posted.
BIEBER STILL ON TOP OF SOCIAL 50 CHART
Justin Bieber is on top of the Billboard Social 50 chart for a second straight week, while Katy Perry leaps five spots to number two after releasing her star-studded video for “Last Friday Night (T.G.I.F.).” Other hot artists on the chart include Pitbull, Lady Gaga, Eminem, Shakira, Rihanna, Nicki Minaj, Chris Brown, Selena Gomez and Australian pop singer Cody Simpson.
EMINEM’S SUMMER TOUR SCHEDULE
In addition to have the number one album in the country, Eminem has a busy summer ahead of him. During the rapper’s upcoming tour stops, fans can expect Slim Shady to perform songs from his latest joint album, Hell: The Sequel, as well as classic material. Em kicks off his outing at the Osheaga Music and Arts Festival in Montreal on July 29th and wraps in Bangor, Ireland on August 24th. According to his official website, here’s the full list of dates:

A MADONNA COMIC BOOK COMING SOON
Madonna is getting her life turned into a comic book. According to the Associated Press, publisher Bluewater Productions Inc. made the announcement late last week that the Queen of Pop would be the focus of their latest Femme Force comic. It’s going to be 32-pages and will “show the little-known events and influences that resulted in Madonna becoming the phenomenon she remains to this day.” It will be available in August for just under four bucks.

Katy Perry sells a whole lot of singles. According to the Yahoo! Music Blog, the pop star’s latest song “E.T.,” which features Kanye West, has just surpassed four-million digital downloads, her fifth single to do so. It joins “I Kissed a Girl,” “Hot N Cold,” “California Gurls,” with Snoop Dogg, and “Firework.”
GAGA IS THE MOST SEARCHED WOMAN ON THE WEB
Google’s list of the 50 Most Popular Women on the Web has been announced, and it should come as no surprise who is number one. According to CoedMagazine.com, Lady Gaga topped the list after being searched 578-million times, far and away the most. DRAKE TO DROP NEW SINGLE IN TWO WEEKS
Dying to hear new music from Drake? Well, the rapper revealed to Fader TV that the first single off his sophomore set, Take Care, will be released within two weeks. The Toronto native spilled that “it’ll be fun. It’s going to be a blast.” He added that he’s “really excited about it. Just trying out different things, different sounds, different flows… We’re all in a really great place in our lives just as a team.”
U2 PLAN SPECIAL REISSUES FOR 20TH ANNIVERSARY OF ACHTUNG BABY
Rolling Stone reports that U2 will celebrate the 20th anniversary of their album Achtung Baby, as well as their Zoo TV tour and 1993 follow-up, Zooropa, with reissues, unseen video footage and rare recordings. The band says they will likely reissue both albums separately in the fall along with a box set containing both albums and video and audio from the Zoo TV tour. We’ll keep you posted on release dates.
ANDY GRAMMER’S DEBUT IS DOING WELL
Andy Grammer’s self-titled debut is doing quite well. According to a press release, the album reached number three on the iTunes Pop Chart and also hit number one on the Heatseeker Chart.
