KE$HA TALKS WRITING NEW BRITNEY SPEARS SONG

Britney Spears’ new single, “Till the World Ends,” which is available on iTunes now, was written by Ke$ha and produced by Dr. Luke and Max Martin. Ke$ha told MTV News that she considers herself a songwriter above everything else and said “It’s an honor to write for one of pop’s biggest icons.”   This new track is the latest single from Spears’ forthcoming album Femme Fatale, which drops March 29th.

BLACK EYED PEAS TO PERFORM IN CENTRAL PARK?

According to the New York Post, the Black Eyed Peas are planning a summer show in Central Park. The band wants to put on a charity concert on the Great Lawn on June 9th.     Back in 1981, Simon & Garfunkel played a free concert on the Lawn that was attended by more than 500-thousand people and was later released as an album.

ADAM LAMBERT RETURNS TO THE IDOL STAGE

American Idol season eight runner-up Adam Lambert will be returning to the Idol stage on Thursday to perform an acoustic version of “Aftermath.”   Immediately following Lambert’s Idol performance, a new version of “Aftermath,” remixed by Billboard, will be made available at AdamOfficial.com, with part of the proceeds going to support The Trevor Project.   See Adam Lambert on American Idol on FOX at 8 PM Eastern on Thursday.

GAGA’S BIG TORONTO SHOW

Lady Gaga had quite the show in Toronto, Canada late last week.   Not only did the pop star go crowdsurfing during her set, but she also brought ten-year-old Internet sensation Maria Aragon on stage to sit on her lap as they played the piano and sang “Born This Way” together.   Maria’s cover of “Born This Way” was of course what brought her to fame, and she’s even appeared on The Ellen DeGeneres Show.   Check out videos of the crowdsurfing and Gaga’s performance with Maria on YouTube.

GAGA WANTED SINGLE TO BE “VIRAL MESSAGE”

Lady Gaga wanted the video for her new single, “Born This Way,” to be a “viral message.”   Choreographer Laurieann Gibson told MTV News that’s why the pop star decided to enlist Nick Knight to direct the clip — because he’s “so genius visually” and is all about “pushing the bar.”

TEDDER TALKS ABOUT MEETING GAGA

NEW DAUGHTRY ALBUM THIS YEAR?

Chris Daughtry recently revealed via his Twitter page that he was working on some new music, which led people to ask the former American Idol contestant when they’ll get to hear some of it.   Well Chris responded, saying that his band’s third album should be “out this year.”   We’ll keep you posted as we hear more.

MADONNA’S FILM TO PREMIERE IN VENICE

We’ve finally learned when Madonna’s new film, W.E., will have its world premiere.   According to British paper the Daily Mail, it will take place at the Venice Film Festival in September, and that Madge, as well as the stars of the movie including Abbie Cornish and Madonna’s daughter Lola, are all expected to attend.

ADELE TO BE NUMBER ONE AGAIN

Adele had a great first week of album sales for her latest effort, 21, which sold over 350-thousand copies and debuted at the top of the Billboard 200 chart.   And according to HitsDailyDouble.com, it seems that the singer-songwriter will most likely be at the summit yet again this week as well.   We’ll know for sure on Wednesday.

SIMON SAYS WHO MAY BE ON AMERICAN X-FACTOR

Simon Cowell has narrowed down the list of who might be judges on the forthcoming American version of The X-Factor.   The former American Idol man told Access Hollywood that Nicole Scherzinger from the Pussycat Dolls, Mariah Carey, George Michael and even Paula Abdul are all getting serious consideration.   He also noted that Katy Perry and Elton John are officially out of the running.

DRAKE, LIL WAYNE JOINT ALBUM COMING SOON?

According to MTV News, Lil Wayne and Drake are looking to record a joint album that could potentially be completed before the end of the year. Weezy told MTV last week that the project has “always been in the making,” but he first needs to release his long-awaited joint album with T-Pain, titled T-Wayne. MELANIE FIONA TALKS THE MF LIFE

Now that she’s announced the dates for her BET Music Matters tour, Melanie Fiona is spilling her details about her forthcoming sophomore album, The MF Life. The Toronto native told Rap-Up.com that the disc will include “all the energy that I’ve taken from being around the world and meeting so many different amazing people, and just really experiencing life, the ups and downs.” In related news, fans can expect her joint outing with Marsha Ambrosius to kick off March 16th in Dallas, Texas.

WHITNEY HOUSTON’S DAUGHTER ISN’T USING DRUGS

Good news! The pictures that surfaced in the National Enquirer of Whitney Houston’s daughter, Bobbi Kristina, sniffing cocaine is not what it seemed. The offspring of Bobby Brown, who battled his own drug addiction with his ex-wife, tweeted, “A former very dear person to me did this. CHAMILLIONAIRE READIES NEW ALBUM

According to HipHop-N-More.com, Chamillionaire plans to release a new mixtape called Major Pain 1.5. Since the rapper’s long-awaited Venom LP has been indefinitely shelved for unknown reasons, he promises the new project will be available on April 18th.

DA BRAT TALKS PRISON SENTENCE

Now that Da Brat has been released from prison, the rapper told TMZ what it was like serving three years behind bars. Starting with the most obvious question, the fem-cee revealed that “every female in prison wanted me… all of them wish they could have gotten these goodies.” In addition to never being sexually assaulted during her stint, she says producer Jermaine Dupri, Lisa Raye, Katt Williams, Mariah Carey, Omar Epps and Nick Cannon constantly kept in contact while she served.
