GAGA TO SCORE 1,000th NUMBER ONE SONG?

In just three days of availability, Lady Gaga’s “Born This Way” rockets to a record-setting debut on Billboard’s Mainstream Top 40 radio airplay chart.   Fueled by strong opening digital sales estimates and her GRAMMY performance of the song, Gaga will likely debut at number one on the Billboard Hot 100 chart later this week.   If she does debut at the summit, hers would become the 1,000th number one song in the history of the Hot 100 chart.

GAGA’S NEXT SINGLE IS “JUDAS?”

According to Rap-Up.com, Lady Gaga announced that the next single from her forthcoming album, Born This Way, will be “Judas.”   Gaga spoke with Ryan Seacrest on his L-A based radio show Tuesday morning to make the announcement.   She added that the track was produced by RedOne, whom she worked with on The Fame and The Fame Monster.   Gaga also unveiled song titles including “Government Hooker,” “Marry the Night” and “Hair.”   Born This Way is due in stores May 23rd.

GAGA TALKS MADONNA

Monday night on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, Lady Gaga addressed the talk about her new single, “Born This Way,” sounding a lot like Madonna’s classic tune “Express Yourself.”   The pop star told the late night host that “there is not one that is a more adoring and loving fan Madonna fan” than she is, and that she actually “got an e-mail” from Madge’s people, sending their “love and support on behalf of the single.”   Seems like there’s no problem there after all.   See Gaga’s interview at EOnline.com.

GAGA WENT DRINKING AFTER GRAMMYS

Lady Gaga had a big night at the GRAMMYs on Sunday, taking home three trophies.   But when asked by Jay Leno on his late night talk show about how she celebrated her success, the pop star said that she actually wasn’t entirely too sure, because she had been drinking.   Gaga said, “I don’t remember very much, I know it was fun, I do remember being called drunky Gaga at some point.”   See the interview at EOnline.com.

GAGA TO HAVE HBO CONCERT SPECIAL

Lady Gaga is teaming up with HBO for her very own concert special.   According to MTV.com, the cable network confirmed on Tuesday that they will be taping the pop star’s two shows in New York City on February 21st and 22nd, and then airing them on May 7th under the title Lady Gaga Presents the Monster Ball Tour at Madison Square Garden.   The special will be out just in time to help build some buzz for her highly anticipated new album, Born This Way, which is due later in May.

CHRISTINA DIVORCE ALL BUT FINALIZED

According to the Associated Press, court records show Christina Aguilera and Jordan Bratman have finalized their divorce.   Most of the details of the couple’s breakup were not filed with the court.   The judgment will not become official until April 15th.   Aguilera filed for divorce in October, just days after she and Bratman announced they had separated. It takes six months in California for a divorce to become official. They have a three-year-old son named Max together.  

BONNAROO FESTIVAL LINE UP ANNOUNCED

According to MTV News, the official line-up for the 2011 Bonnaroo Music and Arts Festival has just been announced. The event, which takes place on June 9th to the 12th in Manchester, Tennessee, will include performances from Eminem, Lil Wayne, Florence and the Machine, Arcade Fire, Wiz Khalifa, The Strokes, Mumford & Sons, Big Boi, the Black Keys, Robyn and many more. THE SCRIPTS ARE “ORDINARY BLOKES”

The Script may be worldwide music stars, but they insist that they’re still just “ordinary blokes.”   According to ContactMusic.com, guitarist Mark Sheehan stated that the Irish rockers “don’t want to hang around with a load of d***heads who think they are better than everyone else” and that they’d rather “go to pubs with real people.”   The guys are currently touring around Europe.

MADONNA’S FILM NOT OUT IN AMERICA FOR A WHILE

Madonna’s new film W.E. was previewed in Berlin over the weekend, but we won’t see it in America until at least the fall.   According to Deadline.com, American distribution rights won’t be sold until later in 2011 with negotiations possibly getting underway at the Venice or Toronto Film Festivals in September.

ADELE’S MUSIC IN NEW MOVIE

The new action flick, I Am Number Four, has some music in it from someone whom you might not expect.   According to the Wall Street Journal, Adele gave some of her tunes to the film to be used, but was a little hesitant at first.   She was finally swayed when she learned that there is a “female alien warrior” in the flick.   Learn more at WSJ.com.

J. COLE ISSUES “IN THE MORNING” VIDEO

MTV News reports J. Cole has released the visual to his revamped single, “In The Morning,” featuring Drake. The clip was shot in Paris while the rappers toured overseas together. The Roc Nation artist recently told MTV, “I wanted to give a feel for how that tour felt. And just the magic of that tour. To give people a look into that.” Check it out today on MTV.com.

LL COOL J’S WIFE LAUNCHS JEWELRY LINE

AllHipHop.com reports LL Cool J’s wife, Simone, plans to keep busy by launching her own line of jewelry called Simone I Smith (SIS). The rapper’s wife is looking forward to specializing in creating hoop earrings as well as bangles, cuffs, necklaces and rings. No word on when SIS will be available in stores.

RIHANNA SUED FOR “S&M” VIDEO

According to Rap-Up.com, Rihanna is facing a lawsuit filed by famed photographer David LaChapelle for allegedly using his images in her recent “S&M” video. In the suit, he claims the images in the Melina-directed clip are “directly derived from and substantially similar to” his works and that the video copied the “composition, total concept, feel, tone, mood, theme, colors, props, settings, decors, wardrobe, and lighting” of his art. He’s seeking an unspecified amount in damages.

MIKE BIGGA TO APPEAR ON MTV’S MADE

Rapper Mike Bigga, formerly known as “Killer Mike,” is scheduled to mentor to an inexperienced teen on MTV’s hit series Made. The rapper will help a high school boy achieve his dream of becoming an MC and introduce him to heavy hitters including Big Boi and Chamillionaire.   Catch the episode on February 24th at 4 PM Eastern.
