JUSTIN BIEBER CLEARED OF CRIMINAL CHARGES IN ASSAULT CASE

Justin Bieber has escaped criminal charges after an incident at a laser tag park in October, when a 12-year-old boy accused the singer of punching him in the face.   The Richmond Royal Canadian Mounted Police told RadarOnline.com that the “incident is now complete” and there will be “no charges” made.

JUSTIN BIEBER ADDS AUSSIE DATES

Justin Bieber has added more shows to the Australian leg of his My World Tour.   He will now play a third show at Acre Arena in Sydney on April 29th and a third show at the Rod Laver Arena in Melbourne on May 3rd.   The nine date Aussie jaunt wraps in Perth, Australia on May 7th.  

BIEBER WANTS A GRAMMY

Justin Bieber is nominated for two GRAMMY Awards, including the coveted Best New Artist and Best Pop Vocal Album for My World 2.0.   The 16-year-old told Billboard that winning a GRAMMY is at the top of his list for goals in 2011.   Beiber is up against fellow Canadian Drake in the Best New Artist category.   He added that Drizzy is his biggest competition and that he is “awesome.”   See who wins when the 53rd Annual GRAMMY Awards air live from Los Angeles on February 13th on CBS.      

WILL.I.AM STILL NOT HAPPY WITH MJ RELEASE

According to Rolling Stone, Black Eyed Peas frontman will.i.am is still not happy about the release of the posthumous Michael Jackson album. Last month, will.i.am went public disapproving of the album, saying Jackson was such a perfectionist about his songs and that releasing any of them without his approval would dishonor the singer’s memory.   Will recently told Rolling Stone he had a conversation with Jackson a few years ago when his song “Hold My Hand” was leaked.   Will said Michael was very upset that people heard the track before it was finished.  

TOP TEN JAMS OF 2010

Katy Perry’s “Teenage Dream” tops E! Online’s Top Ten Jams of 2010.   The song edged out Usher’s “OMG” featuring will.i.am, which took the number two spot, followed by Rihanna’s “Rude Boy,” Cee-Lo’s “F**k You” and Taio Cruz’s “Dynamite.”   Lady Gaga and Beyonce are also on the list with “Telephone” and Ke$ha comes in at number ten with her latest single, “We R Who We R.”

BONO AND THE EDGE HELP CARSON RING IN 2011

U2 will be part of Carson Daly’s New Year’s Eve show. Bono and The Edge will be on New Year’s Eve with Carson Daly, talking about writing the score and lyrics for the new Broadway musical Spider-Man: Turn off the Dark. Musical performers on the show include Lil Wayne, Nicki Minaj and My Chemical Romance. The program airs live from Times Square in New York City on January 31st at 10 PM Eastern.

COLDPLAY GET READY FOR CONCEPT ALBUM

Coldplay are gearing up to release a new album next year, the follow-up to 2008’s Viva La Vida. A while back, we spoke to singer Chris Martin about how the group crafts songs (See Related Cut #4). Coldplay are working with producers Brian Eno and Marcus Dravs on their album and say this record will be a concept album. We’ll let you know when they decide to release it.

COLDPLAY LOOK FORWARD TO CHARITY GIGS

More news from Coldplay. The band is working on a new album right now, but has a few charity gigs lined up in England next week. Singer Chris Martin is looking forward to the shows, telling the BBC, “I think it will be good for us to get our gig feet on for a couple of days because sometimes you can get very institutionalized in the studio.”

DETAILS BEHIND TAYLOR SWIFT’S 21ST BIRTHDAY

Taylor Swift spent her 21st birthday at a Christmas-themed birthday bash titled “Team Taylor” at her family’s home in Hendersonville, Tennessee. Swift and her mother spent the morning preparing hors d’oeuvres for 70 guests. One person who was missing from the festivities was Jake Gyllenhaal, but Taylor did hand out special thank you gifts to her bandmates and members of her management team. A source told People Taylor wore a tiara and that the highlight of the night was a dirty Santa gift exchange.

USHER GETS KICKED BY FAN ONSTAGE

This is what happens when you are trying to be cute. Usher invited an overzealous fan onstage while he performed “Trading Places” at New York City’s Madison Square Garden. The fan, who was sitting with her back to Usher, tried to swing her leg around and accidentally kicked the singer in the face. Check it out on YouTube now!

JA RULE’S TWITTER HACKED BY 50 CENT?

If teasing Ja Rule about his pending prison sentence wasn’t enough, 50 Cent has been accused of allegedly hacking into Ja’s Twitter account. We knew something was strange when an imposter posted “f**k @Irv Gotti that n***a ruined my career, all the drugs, raping me on royalties, now I’m going to jail for two years” followed by “after ‘Wankster’ dropped I started using heroin heavy.” A few hours after the imposter wrote, “I went from doing shows on MTV to doing shows in Rikers [Island], ain’t that a bitch,” Rule gained control of his account and posted: “This coward 50 Cent hacking into my page is some sucker s**t. That’s why [he’ll] never be half the man [his] mother is.” When will this drama ever end?

“I AM T-PAIN” #1 APP

During the Billboard Music App Awards, the I Am T-Pain download was named the Best Artist-Based Application. The app allows iPhone users to sing in auto tune and upload their song to Facebook or Twitter to share. The app also provides a free download of “Motivated,” which is off the entertainer’s prEREVOLVEr The Mixtape. In related news, fans can expect his fourth studio album, rEVOLVEr, to drop next year.
