CHRISTINA AGUILERA OFFICIALLY FILES FOR DIVORCE
Christina Aguilera has officially filed for divorce from husband Jordan Bratman. According to TMZ, the pop star cited “irreconcilable differences” as the reason for the split, and documents list the date of separation as September 11th of this year. TMZ also reports that there was a prenuptial agreement signed, and that the petition seeks to terminate Bratman’s ability to receive spousal support. Aguilera also asked for joint custody of their son Max. In an interesting twist, sources tell TMZ that the marriage fell apart after Christina cheated on Jordan, although Aguilera’s camp refuses to comment on the claim.
RIHANNA EXPLAINS “GENERIC” MUSIC COMMENT
Rihanna is clarifying some comments that she made in an interview on Radio One, during which she labeled the music from Katy Perry, Lady Gaga and Ke$ha “generic.” According to PerezHilton.com, Rihanna said she would “never diss” Katy Perry, as the two are great friends. She went on to say the producers for the three artists create the same kind of pop songs. RiRi added that she and Perry are working on a possible collaboration.
BIEBER TAPPED AS DIGITAL HOST OF EMAS
Justin Bieber will be the digital host of the 2010 MTV European Music Awards. Bieber will be tweeting and interacting live with fans watching the show online through a number of new, exclusive features added to the web simulcast of the show. For the very first time, MTV and AttracTV have partnered to develop interactive overlays which can be switched on over the EMA live-stream exclusively at www.mtvema.com. The 2010 EMAs will be hosted by Eva Longoria and will take place in Madrid, Spain. It will air on MTV2 on Sunday, November 7th at 9 PM Eastern.

GAGA BUYS ALL HER AUCTION ITEMS
Lady Gaga’s management has purchased all items her former manager, Bob Leone, was putting up for sale in an auction. Leone planned to auction off CDs and DVDs from Gaga’s pre-The Fame career in the Gotta Have It: Rock & Roll Pop Culture Auction. Items up for bids included a demo CD from 2002, a copy of the 2005 CD Stefani Germanotta, another CD from 2005 titled Stefani Germanotta Band, Words, an original Lady Gaga disc from 2006, a 2006 CD called Stefani Red and Blue and a DVD containing a 2006 Gaga performance at the On Stage Italian Artists showcase.
RIHANNA AND LADY GAGA?
Could there be an upcoming collaboration between Rihanna and Lady Gaga? Yes, according to what appears to be the official track listing for Rihanna’s Loud, which was revealed in a scan of its back cover that began making the Internet rounds this week. That track listing contains a song called “Broken Heels,” on which Gaga is featured. But the song supposedly featuring Gaga was not mentioned in Just Jared’s early review of the album. Fans will just have to wait and see when Loud is released on November 16th.
TIM GUNN DISSESS GAGA’S FASHION SENSE
A lot of people are impressed with Lady Gaga’s fashion sense, but apparently, Tim Gunn isn’t one of them. According to DigitalSpy.com, the Project Runway host said that Gaga’s unusual style of dress doesn’t count as “fashion,” and that her outfits are nothing more than dressing up in a “costume.”
VH1 DIVAS SALUTE THE TROOPS
This year’s Vh1 Divas is going to be a little different than in years past. It was just announced that the USO is presenting Vh1 Divas Salute The Troops, which will take place on Marine Corps Air Station Miramar in San Diego, California. The event will feature Katy Perry, Sugarland, Keri Hilson and Nicki Minaj performing in front of thousands of uniformed men and women. Adam Lambert is a man of his word. According to the Associated Press, the former American Idol runner-up toned down his performance in Malaysia last night, “steering clear of sexually provocative moves.” Although the show was protested by Islamic activists, the performance wasn’t disrupted in any way. Lambert next takes his Glam Nation tour to New Zealand on Sunday.
KATY AND RUSSELL TO DRESS THEIR WEDDING GUESTS
If you’re going to Katy Perry and Russell Brand’s upcoming wedding, be prepared to be told what to wear. According to ContactMusic.com, a source said that their nuptials will be “themed” and that everyone will be “asked to all wear the same color.” But the thing is, “nobody yet knows what color.” The couple is set to be wed sometime this month.
THE JONAS BROTHERS CANCEL MEXICAN SHOW
The Jonas Brothers have canceled a concert scheduled in the Mexican city of Monterrey because of security concerns. Live Nation announced that the October 21st show was scrapped due to “a series of unfortunate events” in Monterrey and out of concern for fans. Monterrey is Mexico’s richest city and one of its safest, but a wave of drug violence has shocked residents. More than 400 people have been killed in and around the city this year.
BRUNO MARS STILL NUMBER ONE!
Bruno Mars remains at number one for a fourth week on the Billboard Hot 100 with “Just the Way You Are.” The song, which led Digital Songs for two non-consecutive weeks over the past month, sells another 180-thousand downloads, bringing it’s total to over 1.6 million, according to Nielsen SoundScan. Far East Movement stays put at number two with “Like a G6,” Nelly is up one spot to number three with “Just a Dream,” while Katy Perry falls one spot to number four with “Teenage Dream.” Usher’s “DJ Got Us Fallin’ in Love” featuring Pitbull holds at number five and Taylor Swift’s “Speak Now” makes a big splash debuting at number eight.
BIEBER IS SHAWTY MANE
After dabbling in rap during his live performances of “Baby” when he tackles Ludacris’ verse in his hit song, Justin Bieber is taking it to a new level in a new video posted on is Twitter page. In the grainy clip titled “Speaking in Tongues,” Bieber raps his own lyrics over Cam’ron and Vado’s “Speaking Tongues,” and in a message posted on the webpage, he announced that his rap alias is “Shawty Mane.” The video features shots of Bieber in the studio and hanging out in the streets rocking some glasses. He raps lines like: “Call up Lady Gaga on my on my telephone/ Hello doll/ You’re my girl/ Beats no metronome.”

According to MusicRooms.net, Justin Bieber is in talks to star in a remake of Bill and Ted’s Excellent Adventure. The original film was released in 1989 and starred Keanu Reeves and Alex Winter as the lead characters. The film was followed by the sequel Bill and Ted’s Bogus Journey in 1991. Reeves recently revealed he would love to shoot a third installment. He explained he and Alex have already discussed the possibility with the writers of the original films.
NICOLE SCHERZINGER PREPS “POISON”

In the latest issue of Cosmopolitan magazine, Drake gives dating advice for female readers. When asked if sex on a first date was a deal breaker, the rapper stated, “No, I don’t get why women think that.” Drizzy explained that “you’re telling yourself that all you have to offer is your body and the physical act. SWIFT TO TV AFTER RELEASE OF NEW ALBUM
Taylor Swift will take over the television airwaves after the release of her upcoming album, Speak Now. October 26th, the day after Taylor’s album is released, she will perform live for fans on NBC’s The Today Show as part of their fall concert series. That night, she will do an interview and performance on the Late Show with David Letterman. The following day, Taylor will do an interview and performance on Live! With Regis & Kelly. Then, on October 28th, The Ellen Degeneres Show will celebrate the release of Speak Now by once again devoting an entire hour-long show to throwing Taylor’s official album release party, which will air November 1st. SWIFT TO RELEASE A VINYL VERSION OF SPEAK NOW
Taylor Swift revealed to Entertainment Weekly she will release a vinyl version of her upcoming highly-anticipated album, Speak Now. Taylor collects vinyl and felt it was really important to give fans the same opportunity. She said, “I’m so in love with the concept of an album – a collection of memories from your life that you’re giving to people. It’s a piece of you. Buying them on vinyl is just taking that one step further.” Speak Now will be available nationwide October 25th.
NICKI MINAJ’S DEBUT PUSHED UP!
Nicki Minaj has just announced the release date for her highly anticipated album, Pink Friday, has reportedly been moved up. Rap-Up.com confirms that Barbies everywhere will be able to grab the physical copy on November 22nd, instead of its initial November 23rd launch date. And yes, this now means that the female heavy hitter is going toe-to-toe with Kanye West’s equally anticipated album, My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy. According to BET.com, Nicki Minaj was the muse that helped Drake co-write Alicia Keys smash hit, “Un-Thinkable.” Drizzy told the site, “The concept came from a conversation that we had, or conversations we have.” He added that he “wrote it based off two things: number one, based off that, and then two, based off Alicia Keys and Swizz Beatz and their situation and it just seemed fitting. It was like the perfect concept.”

Today, John Mayer turns 33 years old. The singer-songwriter has gotten to do some pretty cool things in his life, but as he told us a little while back, performing with The Police at their Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremony in 2003 is definitely towards the top of the list (See Related Cut #6). After talking a man threatening to jump off an Atlanta building down, T.I. is upset that people are assuming the incident was a publicity stunt. Could Nicole Scherzinger get a role in Men in Black III? According to ContactMusic.com, the Pussycat Dolls singer has been offered a cameo appearance in the forthcoming movie, potentially as the girlfriend of young version of Tommy Lee Jones’ character, which is set to be portrayed by James Brolin. Men in Black III is expected to be released sometime in 2012.

PRESIDENT OBAMA SPEAKS TO AMERICA’S YOUTH
Today, President Barack Obama spent an hour answering questions from our country’s young people. Viewers watched the Town Hall event live on MTV, CMT and BET as the Commander in Chief fielded queries from young folks of all different races, religions, backgrounds and political affiliations. Among the topics he was asked about were the Chilean miners, the unemployment rate, taxes, the cost of a college education, social security, cyber-bullying and the strife in Sudan. Obama also express that he is against Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell but, as is evident, he’s running into obstacles repealing it. He went on to say that he doesn’t think homosexuality is a choice, rather the result of people being born with “a certain make-up.” Additionally, during the program, viewers were able to submit questions to the President and discuss their fears and hopes with him through Twitter.
