GAGA TOPS LIST OF LA SHOWS!
Lady Gaga is the number one requested concert in Los Angeles, according to StubHub.com. The website compiled a list of the top five most-requested tickets in the Los Angeles-metropolitan area. Gaga tops the list, followed by Muse, Kings of Leon, Justin Bieber and the Dave Matthews Band. Lady Gaga will perform two shows at the Staples Center in Los Angeles on August 11th and 12th, while Bieber plays the Nokia Theater at L.A. Live on July 20th. Kings of Leon played the Hollywood Bowl last night and head to the Verizon Wireless Amphitheater in Irvine, California tomorrow night. The Dave Matthews Band will take the stage at the Hollywood Bowl on August 23rd and Muse plays the Staples Center on September 25th.
ELTON JOHN GOES TO SEE GAGA
Lady Gaga and Elton John are friends, so it should be no surprise that the “Tiny Dancer” singer went to check out the pop star in concert. PerezHilton.com reports that Sir Elton went to Gaga’s show north of the border in Toronto on Sunday night.
J. LO MAY GET HIT WITH 40-MILLION DOLLAR LAWSUIT?
As reported last week, Jennifer Lopez canceled a planned appearance at a hotel in Cyprus due to reports that the appearance would make a political statement in support of human rights abuse. Lopez’s management insists a “full review of the relevant circumstances” resulted in her decision to cancel, noting “Lopez would never knowingly support any state, country, institution or regime that was associated with any form of human rights abuse.” However, according to ThatGrapeJuice.net, organizers plan to proceed with a 35 to 40-million dollar lawsuit if Lopez does not show for the July 24th gig. July 24th also marks Lopez’s 41st birthday.

British website BangCD.com has posted the track listing for Katy Perry’s new album Teenage Dream. The album is set to arrive in the states on August 24th, but won’t hit shelves in the U-K until one week later. Katy’s single, “California Gurls,” featuring Snoop Dogg, has been the number one song on the Billboard Hot 100 chart for the past five weeks. Perry will take the stage at Atlantis Paradise Island in Nassau, Bahamas on Saturday night.

Katy Perry made it clear that she wasn’t the biggest fan of Lady Gaga’s video for her song “Alejandro” because of the use of religious imagery, and the pop star is going more in depth about her comments. The “California Gurls” singer told British magazine Star that she doesn’t care if it’s Madonna or her fiancé talking, “If you put sexuality and religion in the same bottle and try to shake it up, it’s not cool.”

NASHVILLE RISING RAKES IN OVER 2.2 MILLION
According to Variety, the all-star June 22nd Nashville Rising concert which was organized by Faith Hill and Tim McGraw at the Bridgestone Arena in Nashville has raked in over 2.2-million dollars. All proceeds are going to the Nonprofit Community Foundation of Middle Tennessee’s Emergency Response Fund. The show featured performances from Miley Cyrus, Taylor Swift, Carrie Underwood, Toby Keith, Lynyrd Skynyrd and ZZ Top.
RUNNER RUNNER TO MAKE NETWORK TV DEBUT!
Runner Runner will make its network television debut on Tuesday, July 20th when the band guests on ABC’s Jimmy Kimmel Live. The band will perform their new single “So Obvious” as well as the track “Paper Cuts,” both from the group’s self-titled debut album, which will be released on September 28th. Runner Runner will kick off a huge summer tour with Secondhand Serenade and White Tie Affair on Saturday in Utah. Jimmy Kimmel Live airs at 12:05 AM Eastern.

Things have headed south for recent newlyweds’ The-Dream and Christina Milian. UsMagazine.com confirms the producer was spotted romping with his assistant, Melissa Santiago, on a beach in the Caribbean last week. He also wasn’t wearing his wedding ring. Dream’s wife tweeted: “Whatever you think…believe it” and “I’ve officially lost my appetite” after seeing the images of her husband frolicking with someone else. The news comes just five months after the couple gave birth to their first child together, a little girl named Violet.

Over the weekend, we reported Lil Wayne is looking to release an EP on his birthday called I’m Not a Human Being. The CEO of Young Money, Cortez Bryant, recently told Vibe.com, the project will include all new Weezy material to tide fans over until Wayne’s The Carter IV is completed. In addition to not putting the EP in stores, Bryant states, “We’ not about to roll out no three month set up. We just gonna put it out virally and maybe package it up for Christmas. Snoop Dogg opened up to People magazine about his youngest daughter’s struggle with lupus. The icon says he “felt helpless” when doctors couldn’t explain why Cori was suffering from dramatic hair and weight loss. Snoop added “she went downhill” before finally being diagnosis with lupus. The hardcore rapper says the experience brought him closer to his wife, Shanté Broadus. The emcee said that his child is “the toughest little thing I’ve ever met… In the beginning lupus was winning. According to Rap-Up.com, M.I.A. has nothing but kind words for Nicki Minaj. The singer feels the rap newcomer “runs hip-hop” because “she works hard and …she’s focused.” The “Paper Planes” singer added, “It’s been a while since a female rapper has come up with that much… She’s got a really good work ethic, and I get her.” The two artists joined together on the remix for a song called “Teqkilla” from M.I.A’s upcoming album, /\/\/\Y/\ (Pron: Maya).
LABEL CONFIRMS NICKI MINAJ RELEASE DATE
Just days after Nicki Minaj tweeted that her debut album will arrive on November 23rd, a rep for her label, Young Money/Cash Money, has confirmed the date will stick. SANTANA GETS ENGAGED ON STAGE
Carlos Santana had a very memorable show over the weekend. About four songs into his performance in Chicago on Saturday, 50-year-old jazz and rock drummer Cindy Blackman joined the 62-year-old singer on stage for a solo behind the kit. After, Carlos asked her to the front of the stage and then asked her to marry him. They kissed and the crowd cheered. Congrats Carlos and Cindy!
Cindy is best known for recording and touring with Lenny Kravitz.
In a statement, Carlos said, “Cindy and I are blessed to have found each other. Being in love is a gift from the universe, and the spirit and vibrations that come with it are infinitely powerful.”
BON JOVI INJURED DURING SHOW
Jon Bon Jovi played in his home state of New Jersey on Friday and during the encore, a rock cover of the Dave Clark Five’s “Glad All Over,” Jon jumped away from the mic and clutched his left leg in pain. The 48-year-old singer told the crowd he was hurt adding, “I’m old, but I’m still good looking.” Even with an injury, the rocker finished the song and the set and the next day, released a statement explaining he tore a calf muscle but that no future dates will be affected. BON JOVI, EAGLES HAVE TOP GROSSING TOURS
Now that we’re more than halfway through 2010, the numbers have been crunched and the top grossing tours of the year have been revealed. While the official Pollstar chart shows that Bon Jovi have the top tour after raking in 52.8-million dollars through June, the chart neglects to include the Eagles. Pollstar only reported on six of the band’s dates and had all of their shows been counted, the Eagles would come in at second since they made 48.7-million dollars so far in 2010. NO MORE POLICE
Fans of The Police hoping for another reunion shouldn’t hold their breath. According to ContactMusic.com, Sting said that the band’s 30th anniversary tour a couple years ago “wasn’t easy” since there were “no new songs, no new energy, no desire to take that as a platform and more somewhere else.” The singer compared the tour to a divorced couple reuniting and said nothing could make him do it again.
