B.o.B DEBUTS AT NUMBER ONE!
Atlanta rapper B.o.B bows at number one on the Billboard album chart this week with his debut, The Adventures of Bobby Ray, selling 84-thousand copies in its first week according to Nielsen SoundScan. It marks the first time a solo male artist has earned a number album on the chart with their debut release since Rick Ross’ Port of Miami opened on top back in 2006. Lady Antebellum’s Need You Now stays steady at number two and has spent all 14 of its chart weeks lodged in the top five. Meanwhile, last week’s number one album, the Glee TV soundtrack to its Power of Madonna episode, drops to number 10. Bullet for My Valentine arrives at a career-high number three on the chart with Fever. Justin Bieber’s My World 2.0 falls one notch to number four, AC/DC’s soundtrack to Iron Man 2 drops one spot to number five and Usher’s Raymond v Raymond also descends to number six. Melissa Etheridge’s Fearless Love debuts at number seven and actress/singer Miranda Cosgrove, best known as iCarly, bows at number eight with her debut studio album Sparks Fly. The Now 33 compilation falls three spots to number nine.
HAYLEY WILLIAMS WILL BE IN NEW B.o.B VIDEO
Hayley Williams might not look like most girls you see in rap videos but the Paramore singer has confirmed she will appear in B.o.B’s clip for “Airplanes.” Williams, who sings on the track, is planning on shooting her part of the video when she gets off the road with her band. Funny enough, Williams admits that she’s never actually met the rapper, but that they’ve talked over Twitter.
KELLY CLARKSON IS THE NUMBER ONE IDOL
Billboard.com has ranked the top 24 American Idol contestants of all-time, and who’s ranked number one is no surprise. The website has the original Idol, Kelly Clarkson, at the top of their list, followed closely by country superstar and Season Four winner Carrie Underwood. Next is someone who didn’t even win the competition, Chris Daughtry, who finished fourth on Season Five, and rounding out the top tier are Jordin Sparks and David Cook, winners of Season Six and Season Seven, respectively.
MADONNA JOURNAL DRAMA
Someone was trying to sell some of Madonna’s personal journals on eBay, but the Queen of Pop’s reps weren’t having any of it. According to TMZ, the mystery man said that he won the Madonna items at a blind auction and had intended to sell them for upwards of 2.5-million dollars, but a rep for the singer convinced the online auction site that the journals didn’t belong to him, so eBay stopped the bidding. An eBay spokesperson confirmed that they were indeed contacted by Madonna’s people and that is why they pulled the auctions.
MADONNA TAKING A BREAK FROM MUSIC?
Madonna is taking a break from music. The pop star told Interview magazine that she doesn’t “have a record deal right now with anybody,” and that she wants to focus on her family and her forthcoming movie W.E. Filming is set to begin for the period piece this summer.
KE$HA PERFORMS AT A BAT MITZVAH
Did someone pull a fast one on Ke$ha? According to the New York Post, the “Tik Tok” singer was in New York City over the weekend to perform at what she thought was a Sweet Sixteen party. Turns out that it was actually a Bat Mitzvah, and she was told differently because artists are more likely to perform for a 16-year-old as opposed to someone who is only 13. Ke$ha shouldn’t be too upset though — she was supposedly paid 50-thousand dollars to perform just two songs.
KIM KARDASHIAN GETS DEATH THREATS FROM BIEBER FANS
Justin Bieber has not been shy about his desire to date Kim Kardashian. So, when the two met up at the White House Correspondents Dinner in Washington, D.C. over the weekend, he made sure to get a picture with her. He later posted the picture on his Twitter page and called her his “girlfriend.” Some Bieber fans, however, weren’t at all pleased with the situation and let Kardashian know as much. On Tuesday, the reality star tweeted, “Seriously Biebs! @JustinBieber I’m getting death threats from your fans! This is unBeliebable!!!” Bieber responded with a tweet to his fans saying, “Ladies calm down. @kimkardashian is a friend. a very sexy friend but a friend. no need 4 threats. Let’s all be friends and hang out often.” Bieber’s fans have earned a reputation for being incredibly loyal to the singer. In fact, several appearances over the last several months were canceled due to their over-enthusiasm for the pop star.

ROB THOMAS IS KEEPING BUSY
Rob Thomas is a busy man. The matchbox twenty singer wrote on his Twitter account that he stopped by Rachael Ray’s show to film an episode, and that it will be airing on May 26th. He also wrote that he’ll be stopping by Hall & Oates’ Daryl Hall’s Live From Daryl’s House to tape an episode on May 20th, but doesn’t know when exactly that will air. KATHARINE McPHEE RECORDS WITH “CHUCK”
Katharine McPhee recently recorded a new version of her song “Terrified,” featuring Zachary Levi, star of the hit NBC show Chuck. Katharine and Zachary have known each other for some time, but she was unaware that he sang until she discovered that he would be singing in Disney’s upcoming animated film, Tangled. The two shot a video for the tune that will premiere on Vevo on Friday. Kat said that working with Zachary on the video was an “incredible pleasure” and that “he was such a blast, so funny and charming.” The song is available for download now at iTunes. MICHAEL BUBLE CAUSES SOME TROUBLE
Michael Buble got into a bit of trouble while being interviewed on an English variety show. According to ContactMusic.com, the Canadian singer-songwriter was filming an episode of An Audience With… in London, and when asked if he got into music as a youngster to impress the ladies, he answered that at 12 years old, he would “have had sex with sandwich meat if it was possible!” He was asked by producers to come up with a more appropriate response, and he replied that he didn’t see what the problem was because he can see breasts “after nine o’clock on television” in the U-K. According to Rap-Up.com, Jermaine Dupri is looking forward to handling Mariah Carey’s upcoming album. While Mi Mi’s last disc, Memoirs Of An Imperfect Angel, failed to make a great impression, JD believes he can push Carey to the top of charts again sooner than you think. The hitmaker stated, “We started last week and we don’t take long when we get in, so hopefully a single before the end of the year. Lil Jon wants everyone to know that just because his upcoming Crunk Rock album has the word “rock” in it, doesn’t mean the project is dedicated to rock sounds. KINGS OF LEON SEND VIDEO UPDATE FROM THE STUDIO
It appears some piano might make its way onto the next Kings of Leon album. Drummer Nathan Followill posted video from the studio of bassist Jared Followill tickling the ivories, and who knows it may just be a piece of music that ends up on the record. The boys are working on the Only By The Night follow-up at home in Tennessee and will likely release a new album next year. They kick off a summer tour in Atlantic City on June 5th.

BRET MICHAELS TALKS
Two weeks ago, Bret Michaels suffered a brain hemorrhage that put him in critical condition in the ICU. Now, the Poison singer has been discharged and is already talking to the media. In his first interview since the ordeal, Bret spoke to People magazine saying, “I’m lucky to be alive.” The 47-year-old rocker explained that “will and faith” kept him alive. As Bret Michaels continues recovering from his brain hemorrhage, some gossip sites are spreading a rumor that the Poison singer is faking his illness. Well according to Jam! Showbiz, Bret’s sister Michelle has lashed out against those outlets, calling the allegations false and stating she doesn’t want her sick brother to “see something like that” while he tries to get better. Michelle went on to say that although publicists recently announced Bret’s rescheduled shows will go on later this month, she admitted there is “no way” he’ll be able to get back on stage by then.
