LADY GAGA TWEETS SOME MORE
Cole Goforth from Tennessee got sent home from school this week for wearing a Lady Gaga inspired T-shirt which read “I Heart Lady Gay Gay,” and the pop star is really taking the story to heart. She wrote about the situation at length on Wednesday during the day on her Twitter account, and then late Wednesday night, she wrote again. Gaga said, “I love you Cole, you just be yourself. You’re perfect the way God made you,” and even tried to make “Cole The Great” a trending topic on the social networking site.
LADY A MAKE HISTORY
Lady Antebellum has made history on the Adult Pop chart. According to Billboard.com, the band’s hit “Need You Now” was played more in a week than any other song before it in the chart’s 14-year history. The track was played a total of 4,129 times, surpassing Hoobastank’s “The Reason” and Maroon 5’s “This Love,” which were played 4,043 and 4,001 times respectively.
LEIGHTON MEESTER’S NEW SINGLE ON GOSSIP GIRL
Monday night’s Gossip Girl will feature Leighton Meester’s latest single, “Your Love is a Drug.” The song was produced by Josh Abraham and Oliver Goldstein and is now available for download on iTunes. The track will also be featured on Leighton’s forthcoming album, which is due out later this year. The as-yet-untitled record features production from RedOne, J.R. Rotem and Kara Dioguardi. KIELY WILLIAMS DEFENDS “SPECTACULAR”
Earlier this week, we reported that former 3LW singer and Cheetah Girl Kiely Williams released a new single called “Spectacular.” The steamy song has stirred up controversy as expected, with some saying the track condones date rape with lyrics like, “Last I remember I was face down, ass up, clothes off, broke off, dozed off, even though I am not sure of his name he could get it again if he wanted because the sex was spectacular.” Williams posted a video on her Web site stating that she definitely doesn’t condone date rape. She explained that some music just conveys a story and nothing deeper but perhaps it does bring up issues that should be discussed more. FERGIE USED TO BE A CHEATER
Fergie has opened up about not being faithful in previous relationships. The Black Eyed Peas lead singer sat down for an interview in the May issue of Elle magazine and said that she used to be “a cheater” when she was younger and that she’d “be a little naughty” every time spring break rolled around, even if she had a boyfriend. She said that she’s changed completely since meeting husband Josh Duhamel and that she’s now a “relationship girl, a romantic.” The May issue of Elle comes out on Wednesday.
THE NEXT SUSAN BOYLE?
We may have discovered the next Susan Boyle, by way of the Taiwan TV show Super Star Avenue. Lin Yu Chun, a contestant on the American Idol-type show, covered Whitney Houston’s “I Will Always Love You” and the amazing clip is circling around the Internet, just like Boyle’s rendition of “I Dreamed A Dream” did. Chun is the frontrunner to win the million dollar grand prize on the show.

Colbie Caillat is going debut a new video. It’s for the song “I Never Told You,” and you can see it on this weekend’s episode of the Vh1 Top 20 Countdown. The show premieres on Saturday at 9 AM Eastern on Vh1, with a rebroadcast airing on Sunday and Tuesday.
CAVO PERFORMS WITH DAUGHTRY
Daughtry, Lifehouse and Cavo are all out on tour together, and sometimes, they like to get on stage and jump on each other’s songs. During a new interview with Ryan Seacrest, Rihanna confirmed that L-A Dodgers Matt Kemp is more than just a friend. Ri Ri stated, “He’s my boyfriend. It’s new and it’s fun and it’s nothing too serious.” The singer explained, “I don’t want anything that’s gonna take up so much of my energy and time right now in a bad way. I just wanna have fun and that’s what it’s about.” The two have been dating for only four months now.
WHITNEY HOUSTON SLAMS DRUG ABUSE REPORTS
While many speculated that Whitney Houston’s recent hospitalization was due to drug abuse, the legendary singer calls those rumors “ridiculous.” Houston told People.com that she’s “feeling great” and “just ready to move on and continue my world tour.” The songstress was forced to cancel the opening shows for her European tour due to upper respiratory infection. Many people were under the assumption that Brandy and Flo Rida were an item — especially after actress Vivica Fox confirmed on the Wendy Williams Show that they were. However, the singer guest blogged on Vibe and stated: “I’ve seen the photos of me and Flo Rida. It doesn’t matter how we met. We met. I don’t want to say that we’re a couple. Rappers Common and Queen Latifah have teamed up to star alongside each other in the romantic comedy, Just Wright. In the film, Latifah stars as a physical therapist that falls in love with her client, Common, an injured professional basketball player, but she must face off with her best friend (Paula Patton) for his affections. Produced by FOX Searchlight Pictures, the movie hits the big screen on May 14th.
DIDDY HOSTS PARTY FOR 2010 NFL DRAFT
Diddy announced that he will host the first annual Future Kings of the Gridiron event to celebrate the 2010 NFL Draft. The exclusive invitation only, two-day long festivities will provide style consultation and gifts for the entire invited NFL Draft Class. It will be held at the Sean John store located at 475 Fifth Avenue in New York City on April 20th and 21st.
50 CENT TO ADD MEMBERS TO G-UNIT?
It looks like 50 Cent is looking to expand his G-Unit empire by signing up and coming emcees. The mogul told MTV U-K, fans will be seeing “new faces, because I’m looking for new artists now. I’ll sign new artists and take them with me and kinda groom them.” 50 is only looking to work with “talent that inspires me, that complements what I do with their own thing. Some of the stuff you can’t teach a person; they gotta have it.” In related news, Fif’s upcoming Black Magic album is expected to drop later this summer.
CARRIE UNDERWOOD’S NASHVILLE WEDDING
According to E! News, a source close to Carrie Underwood is reporting that the singer and fiancé Mike Fisher plan to marry this summer in Nashville. The news isn’t a complete surprise since Carrie recently told CMT Radio Live that IveyCake bakery in Nashville will make cupcakes for the wedding instead of a traditional cake.
M.I.A. TURNED DOWN TWILIGHT
Turns out not everyone wants to be on a Twilight soundtrack. Rapper M.I.A. told NME that she actually turned down the chance to record a song for the franchise. She says her boss at her record label, Interscope, big wheeler Jimmy Iovine, stepped in and “told them to f**k off.” The singer’s most popular track, “Paper Planes,” did appear however in the Pineapple Express trailer. M.I.A.’s new album drops this summer.
GREEN DAY ON JIMMY FALLON
Green Day’s musical, American Idiot, debuts on Broadway this month and the trio is in full promotion mode. The band is set to be in the New York area next week playing Late Night With Jimmy Fallon on Wednesday, April 14th. The show airs at 12:35 AM Eastern on NBC. American Idiot the musical opens on Broadway on April 20th.
LILY ALLEN AND RECORD STORE DAY
Lots of big names are getting involved with Record Store Day, and it includes Lily Allen. According to NME.com, the “Smile” singer is releasing two songs on vinyl, “Back to the Start,” with a B-side of the tune “Kabul S**t.” Record Store Day is on April 17th.
LILY ALLEN TALKS CHAT ROULETTE
Many people are using ChatRoulette.com, the site which allows you to connect and disconnect from other users at random. Ben Folds has been using it during a few of his live shows, and apparently, Lily Allen has been on the Web site as well. According to Billboard Boxscore, Jay-Z’s BP3 tour managed to bank over nine-million dollars in ticket and merchandise sales within a two week span from March 11th through 24th. Even more impressive is the fact that the rapper’s best selling show grossed over 1.3 million in one day alone. Thanks to Jay’s massive 150-million dollar deal with Live Nation, he took eight of the top 35 spots for best selling shows.
