LADY GAGA SPILLS MORE ON NEW ALBUM
Has Lady Gaga written “the anthem for our generation?” The pop star certainly seems to think so. In a post on fan site GagaDaily.com, the “Bad Romance” singer said that she has “already written the first single for the new album,” that the record will be the “greatest” of her career, and that “it is the anthem for our generation.” Gaga also revealed that she has chosen a title for the album, but that she doesn’t want to “spoil it yet.”
SHAKIRA HAS MINOR SURGERY
Shakira had to have some minor surgery late last week. According to PerezHilton.com, the Colombian singer injured her mouth on a microphone in Miami and had to go to dentist for three hours. Learn more at the gossip site now.
CHRISTINA AGUILERA TALKS NEW SINGLE
MTV News caught up with Christina Aguilera recently. The multi-GRAMMY-winner said her new single, “Not Myself Tonight,” is a good representation of her at the moment, even though someone else wrote the track. She explained she usually pens her own stuff but that one “kind of showed up at [her] doorstep.” “Not Myself Tonight” leads Aguilera’s anticipated Bionic album, which is set for a June 2010 release. It will be Aguilera’s first studio album since 2006’s Back To Basics.
BEIBER DOESN’T LIKE BRIE
Justin Bieber was a guest on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno on Thursday night. There is video of Bieber hanging backstage with Chuck’s Zachary Levi. The clip shows the two discussing the strangest food they have ever eaten. Bieber jokes that he has eaten jellyfish and goes on to say he doesn’t like brie cheese, while Levi stuffs his face full of cheese and crackers.

RIHANNA STILL ON TOP
Rihanna tops the Billboard Hot 100 chart for a third straight week with “Rude Boy,” the third single from her latest album Rated R. Holding at number two for a second week is “Nothin’ On You” by B.o.B featuring Bruno Mars. Train posts the best Hot 100 showing of their career as “Hey, Soul Sister” leaps four spots to number three, while moving up four spots to top the Digital Songs chart. The group’s “Drops of Jupiter (Tell Me),” which had been the band’s biggest hit, stalled at number five back in June 2001. Lady Antebellum’s “Need You Now” drops two spots to number four and Lady Gaga and Beyonce’s “Telephone” falls two spots to number five.

After her summer album release, Miley Cyrus wants to take a break from music. But her fans still have that next album to look forward to before she focuses solely on making movies. Miley spoke about the effort calling it “a little different” and “poppier.” For more check out MTV.com.
TAYLOR SWIFT ISSUES ANOTHER CHALLENGE
Taylor Swift has issued her second challenge for the two Auburn University guys who are vying for a hug from her. After they completed her first challenge of helping an older woman cross the street, Taylor posted a video with details of their next challenge. In the clip, the singer says, “So I think it would be fun to possibly try some other challenges … Since my lucky number is 13, and it’s always a good thing when I see the No. 13, maybe it would be cool to incorporate the most creative [use] of 13, like bake 13 cookies for someone who doesn’t expect it or plant 13 tulips in someone’s yard. But I know that you will probably think of something amazing, so I will give this one to you … I love you guys, thank you so much!” The two students have responded on their Twitter accounts saying, “Let’s just say we are accepting this challenge … ha ha!”

DR. CONRAD MURRAY TRYING TO KEEP LICENSE
Michael Jackson’s embattled doctor, Conrad Murray, is fighting to keep his medial license. His attorneys have responded to a bid by the California attorney general to suspend his license pending trial. According to the Associated Press, the lawyers said that the effect would be devastating to the doctor who already faces a slew of financial problems and is currently “hanging on by a thread.” The attorneys added that for the doc to pay his defense, he must be able to continue to treat patients. Murray, who was working as Jackson’s personal physician, is charged with involuntary manslaughter in the singer’s death from the anesthetic propofol and other drugs. He has pleaded not guilty and is scheduled for a court appearance today at which a judge may be assigned to his case and a preliminary hearing date selected.

Former Spice Girl Geri Halliwell is going to be releasing some new music. WE ARE THE FALLEN TALK ALBUM
We Are the Fallen almost didn’t go the traditional route of releasing a full-fledged album. Band member Ben Moody told Billboard that they originally wanted to release two new songs every eight weeks. Their label, Universal Republic, convinced them to wait and release all of their tunes on their debut disc, which happens to be called Tear the World Down and hits shelves May 11th. In the article, Ben goes on to give high praise to his label, saying they’ve really helped We Are the Fallen become something more than what they were on their own.
