NEW CHRISTINA AGUILERA SINGLE SURFACES

Christina Aguilera has just released the official artwork to her new single, “Not Myself Tonight.” The song serves as the lead offering from the pop star’s album, Bionic — which is scheduled to hit stores later this year. According to Rap-Up.com, one of the lead producers for the album, Tricky Stewart, revealed that “she’s mixing it up again. She’s singing R&B again, she’s doing pop. She’s doing it all, but she’s found a way to make it all meet in the middle because she’s so many different things.”

Bionic will be Christina’s fourth studio album.

JUSTIN BIEBER ON THE VIEW

Justin Bieber had some of his biggest fans dancing in the aisles at Tuesday’s taping of The View, where he made history by being the first guest to make two appearances on the show two days in a row.   On Monday, he sat down with the ladies to chat about his rise to fame and performed an acoustic version of his track “Never Let You Go,” and on Tuesday, he came back for a full-out performance of his single “Baby” off his new album, My World 2.0. After his performance was over, he remained onstage where he revealed he was single and wouldn’t mind dating a girl like host Elizabeth Hasselbeck. When the show ended, Bieber gave a few high-fives to his band and left the stage, leaving his fans excited and wanting more.  

MTV’S THE DIARY OF JUSTIN BIEBER

This week, Justin Bieber is out promoting his new album, My World 2.0, with appearances on The View and The Late Show With David Letterman on Tuesday and an upcoming performance at Nickelodeon’s Kids’ Choice Awards on Saturday.   On Sunday night, Bieber fans can get a behind-the-scenes look at what it’s like to be Justin Bieber on MTV’s special, The Diary of Justin Bieber.   The show features the 16-year-old performing his single “Baby,” appearing at a radio station, singing to a crowd of girls in an intimate setting, and MUCH more.   The Diary of Justin Beiber airs Sunday night at 7:30 PM Eastern on MTV.  

CYRUS, JONAS & LOVATO TO PERFORM ON IDOL

Miley Cyrus will perform “When I Look At You,” and Joe Jonas and Demi Lovato will team up to sing “Make A Wave” on American Idol tonight.   Cyrus was the guest mentor yesterday, giving advice and helpful tips to the 11 remaining contestants.   One of the contestants will be sent home at the end of the show that airs at 9 PM Eastern tonight on FOX.  

TAIO CRUZ & GORILLAZ TOP ITUNES CHART AGAIN

Taio Cruz’s “Break Your Heart” featuring Ludacris is once again the top downloaded track on iTunes this week.   B.o.B’s “Nothin’ On You” featuring Bruno Mars climbs up to number two, while Rihanna’s “Rude Boy,” Train’s “Hey Soul Sister” and Lady Gaga and Beyonce’s “Telephone” follow.   Gorillaz’s Plastic Beach is once again the number one album followed by Broken Bells’ self-titled debut, Need You Now from Lady Antebelleum, Lady Gaga’s The Fame Monster and Ludacris’ Battle of the Sexes.  

DRAKE ON THANK ME LATER, LEAKS “SHUT IT DOWN”

Drake knows that everyone is expecting his debut album, Thank Me Later; to live up to the hype that’s surrounding him. However, the “Best I Ever Had” emcee is primarily focused on just making music that feels good to him (See Related Cut #1). In addition, a new song called “Shut It Down” featuring The Dream has surfaced. The Noah “40” Shebib and Omen produced track is said to be included on Drizzy’s Thank Me Later disc — which will drop later this year. NEW VIDEO FROM OWL CITY

The video for Owl City’s latest single, “Vanilla Twilight,” will debut online today at noon.   According to a press release, the clip was the creative vision of band frontman Adam Young, and was shot in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.   Also, “Vanilla Twilight” has already been certified Gold.   See the vid today beginning at noon at OwlCityMusic.com.

PREORDER THE GLEE MADONNA EPISODE EP

The forthcoming episode of Glee that will feature the music of Madonna won’t air until next month, but you can preorder the soundtrack to the episode right now at Amazon.com.   According to the L-A Times, the track listing consists of seven songs, including classics like “Vogue” and “Like a Prayer,” but it does not say which cast members are performing which tune.   The EP will be available on April 20th, the same day that the episode airs on FOX.

DAUGHTRY COVERS BILLY IDOL

At a show on their current tour with Lifehouse, Daughtry performed a cover of Billy Idol’s classic tune “Rebel Yell.”   And not only that, but frontman Chris Daughtry is still sporting hair on top of his usually bald head.   Check out video of the band’s take on the song, as well as see Chris’ current hairdo, at PerezHilton.com.

GAGA TOPS THE U-K CHARTS

Lady Gaga had a very good week in the U-K.   According to DigitalSpy.com, the pop star’s song “Telephone,” which features Beyonce, is on top of the singles chart, while Gaga’s album, The Fame reissue The Fame Monster, returned to number one after 62 consecutive weeks on the album chart.

GAGA WEARS HIGH HEELS TO THE BEACH

Lady Gaga recently said that she does not want to let her fans see her out of character, and it seems that she’s definitely a woman of her word.   According to British paper the Daily Star, while in New Zealand, the pop star was seen at the beach with her band, but she refused to take off her high heels, even while walking on sand.   Learn more at NME.com.

IS CULTURE CLUB GETTING BACK TOGETHER?

Could Culture Club be reforming?   Frontman Boy George told the BBC that he thinks it’s possible the “Karma Chameleon” group might get back together for a “one-off gig or maybe a small tour” because it’s their 30th anniversary next year.   George didn’t want to promise anything though, being sure to say that it depends on his “mood at the time.”

MADONNA AND JESUS LOOK FOR DANCERS

Madonna was in New York over the weekend, looking for dancers to bring along with her on a forthcoming tour, and apparently, she had a pretty good time.   According to People.com, Madge and boyfriend Jesus Luz held hands and watched some Brazilian dancers in a New York City studio, and then proceeded to join in with them, dancing around for 90-minutes.   No word on when Madonna is thinking about heading back out on the road.

EWAN McGREGOR TO STAR IN MADONNA’S MOVIE

Another big name has just signed on to star in Madonna’s forthcoming new movie W.E.   The film is about the life of Edward VIII, and according to ScreenDaily.com, Ewan McGregor is set to play the former King of the United Kingdom.   Oscar nominee Vera Farmiga has already signed on for a role in the film, as has Abbie Cornish.   Writing and directing this movie means that Madonna will be returning to England to live for six-months, the first time she will reside in the country for a long period of time since her divorce from Guy Ritchie.   A source told The Sun that Ritchie is very pleased with this because it means he will get to see his children more often, and he is even hoping the move is “permanent.”

TAYLOR SWIFT SHOULD WIN ACM’S DUE TO SCIENCE

Taylor Swift and her band have come to the conclusion she should win this year’s ACM Top Female Vocalist of the Year due to science. Taylor has made a video for her fans describing all the reasons she deserves every award, but for Top Female Vocalist, it’s a height factor. In the video, Taylor’s drummer draws on a board the height of each nominee — Lee Ann Womack, Carrie Underwood, Reba McEntire and Miranda Lambert — and clearly, Taylor is taller than every candidate.   Towering almost a foot taller than all the other women, statistics do put Taylor on top.  

LADY ANTEBELLUM COMPLIMENTS AMERICAN IDOL

Though many people have their own opinion about American Idol, Lady Antebellum is defending the TV show, complimenting the contestants’ talent. Charles said, “Man, talent’s talent. It’s so hard to get a break. I think that show honestly is one of the greatest things. I truly do.” The group knows how lucky they already were to have their foot in the door since Hillary’s mom is Linda Davis, and Charles brother is Josh Kelley.   Hillary stated, “We were able to say, ‘Hey man, can somebody come check us out?’ So we realize that it’s so hard to get discovered and just be heard.”   She also confesses she tried out for American Idol twice, and didn’t even make it past the first round.

CARRIE UNDERWOOD GIVES LOVE DETAILS IN COUNTRY WEEKLY

Carrie Underwood is featured on the latest issue of Country Weekly, where she describes the two most important men in her life — fiancé Mike Fisher, and dog, Ace. One reason Carrie is a happy bride-to-be is due to Mike’s morals, saying, “He loves God, he loves his family, he’s good to his mama, and he treats me like royalty.” Luckily, Mike has developed an attachment to Ace, which has helped him stick around.   Carrie said, “There’s definetly been some tension over who gets my love. GREEN DAY MUSICAL ON THE BIG SCREEN?

Green Day’s American Idiot musical will hit Broadway this year, but will it also be made into a feature film? According to The Playlist, talks are underway with Tom Hanks’ Playtone Productions to make the musical into a movie. Using the songs from the hit album, the film will reportedly “tell the coming of age story of three small town guys. One joins the armed forces, another moves to the city and gets mired in a drug habit and the third stays home and gets his girlfriend pregnant.”  

GREEN DAY ANNOUCE DATES FOR SUMMER TOUR

Green Day recently announced that they’d be kicking off a U-S tour in August and now, the dates of that trek have been released. The band, who’ll be taking AFI out on the road with them, will start things off on August 3rd in Camden, New Jersey before heading to Buffalo, Washington D.C., Hartford, Boston, L-A and elsewhere. NEW JAY-Z DOCUMENTARY PREMIERES ONLINE

MTV News reports that Absolut Vodka has released a mini-documentary titled NY-Z, which chronicles Jay-Z’s profound relationship with New York and his love for Madison Square Garden. Hova stated in the 15-minute film, “New York, New York, is my foundation, it’s the center of my growth, it’s the muse for my art. It’s where I grew up.
