Kelly Clarkson is playing six shows in the U-K in February, and the original American Idol can’t wait. According to British paper The Daily Star, Clarkson said that English people “are really mad and go nuts…they are easily my best audience.” She also said that she has some time off between shows and that she really wants to check out the city of Manchester.
KATY PERRY WANTS TO HOST IDOL FOR GOOD
Katy Perry was a guest judge on this past week’s American Idol, and it seems that the singer really enjoyed herself. So much so that she told MTV that she would give up her career as a singer to be a part of it. Perry said that if she was offered a permanent position, she would “ditch” being a pop star. Perry called being on the hit show “fun” and “easy.”
50 CENT GOES GOLD WITH BISD

GAGA TO OPEN GRAMMY’S?

CHRISTINA AGUILERA HELPS HAITI
Christina Aguilera was a part of the Hope For Haiti Now telethon that took place last Friday, but the pop star isn’t done helping the earthquake-ravaged country. According to ContactMusic.com, Aguilera will be making a public service announcement asking people to donate money to Haiti. She’s the spokesperson for Yum! Brands World Hunger, the charity behind the PSA, and said, “I’m devastated by the toll that the earthquake has taken, and, as a mom, I am especially heartbroken by the children and families affected. My goal for the PSA is to inspire as many people as possible to donate to the World Food Program, so they can continue to feed the survivors in Haiti and move them from hunger to hope.”
JOHN MAYER LOVES THE SCRIPT
The Script are still a relatively new band, but they have a famous musician that’s a fan. John Mayer wrote on his Twitter account that “every band with a single this year has a mission: beat ‘Breakeven’ by The Script.” The Irish rockers then wrote back to Mayer, thanking him for a mention and saying they’re big fans of his music as well.
TAYLOR SWIFT SHATTERS DOWNLOAD RECORD
Taylor Swift has broken yet another record and this time, she has topped pop princess Britney Spears. Billboard reports Taylor has the most first-week download sales by a female artist with the song “Today Was a Fairytale” off the Valentine’s Day soundtrack. Selling 325-thousand copies, Taylor’s tune debuts at the top of Billboard’s digital songs chart and at number two on the Billboard Hot 100. Britney had set the previous record in 2008.
MARIAH DEBUTS TWO NEW VIDEOS
As promised, Mariah Carey has debuted two new videos for her new singles “Up Out My Face” with Nicki Minaj and “Angels Cry” featuring Ne-Yo. CLASSIC ROCKERS AT THE GRAMMYS
Classic rockers will be all over Sunday’s GRAMMY Awards. It’s just been announced that Jeff Beck will pay homage to Les Paul during a tribute to the famed guitarist. Meanwhile, Slash will play with actor-singer Jamie Foxx and rappers T-Pain and Doug E. Fresh. Elton John will also perform on the show, as will Green Day, Bon Jovi and the Dave Matthews Band. Meanwhile, Alice Cooper, Ringo Starr and Carlos Santana are among the show’s presenters. See them all when the GRAMMY Awards air on CBS Sunday at 8 PM Eastern.
DRAKE, EMINEM, LIL WAYNE PERFORM AT GRAMMYS
The 52nd Annual GRAMMY Awards just got better as new performers have been added to the star-studded line up. Viewers can expect hip hop’s finest, Drake, Eminem and Lil Wayne, to take stage during the ceremony. The entertainers will perform their smash hit “Forever” along with rocker Travis Barker on the drums. Other confirmed acts include Beyoncé, Black Eyed Peas, Lady Gaga, Maxwell, Mary J. ROBIN THICKE TO TOUR WITH ALICIA
According to Rap-Up.com, Robin Thicke will be joining Alicia Keys on her Freedom tour. The “Sex Therapy” crooner, along with Melanie Fiona, will support Keys during the trek, which kicks off on February 28th in Montreal and wraps in France on June 4th. Thicke tweeted: “Hey guys, Hittin the studio today to prep some new moves for the Alicia tour! CHRIS BROWN READIES FEBRUARY MIXTAPE
Chris Brown took to his official Twitter account to announce that he’s working on a new mixtape that will arrive just in time for Valentine’s Day. He tweeted: “February 14th my mixtape comes out with DJ Drama and it’s called In My Zone.” Breezy reveals he’s recorded “a lot of new songs and doing all the remixes to everybody’s records from Trey Songz to Yo Gotti.” It’s not yet known if the project will be made available as a free download.
CHRISTINA AGUILERA PUSHED TO APRIL
According to RCA Records, Christina Aguilera’s fourth studio album, tentatively titled Bionic, has officially been pushed back. The project was initially scheduled to hit shelves in early March but fans will have to wait an additional month for the set, which is now due out sometime in April. Fortunately, the singer’s lead single, “Glam,” is expected to hit airwaves in the coming weeks, with a video to follow.
Aguilera’s album boasts contributions from Tricky Stewart and The-Dream, The Neptunes, M.I.A and many others.

According to ContactMusic.com, Alicia Keys has expressed an interest in working with Kings of Leon and M.I.A. The singer says she draws inspiration from collaborating with artists from all different backgrounds and would love to work with Kings of Leon and M.I.A. Carrie Underwood to Sing at Super Bowl
Carrie Underwood has been chosen to sing the National Anthem prior to Super Bowl XLIV at Sun Life Stadium in Miami on February 7th. The performance will be televised live by CBS Sports. In addition, Queen Latifah will sing “America the Beautiful.” Carrie is the fifth country artist to sing prior to a Super Bowl game, following the Dixie Chicks (2003), Faith Hill (2000), Garth Brooks (1993) and Charley Pride (1974).
