Tom Morello Releases Music Video For “Every Step That I Take” Ft. Portugal. The Man & Whethan
The concept of the video was to convey a modern take on the story of Joe Hill. Morello explains, “Revolutionary labor troubadour Joe Hill was murdered by a Utah firing squad for a crime he did not commit. They pinned a heart & crosshairs to his chest so the firing squad wouldn’t miss. His ashes were mailed to the four corners of the world and from those ashes generations of new revolutionaries continue to rise. The Atlas Underground sprang from those ashes as well and is proof that ideas, songs and struggle are bulletproof.”

White Denim Announce New Album ‘Side Effects’ Out 3/29
“Shanalala’’ sees White Denim embracing a post-punk side in the vein of Suicide – all stuttering, off-kilter electronics and breakneck drum machines. It’s a track that beautifully captures the playful attitude of the album – a song that shows off one of the many outfits White Denim have in their wardrobe. “Side Effects is built around this tune in some ways”, says Petralli, “I remained excited about ‘Shanalala’ so I wrote a few tunes that I thought would work with the mood and atmosphere of the track. Steve got a chuckle out of most of them and wrote great parts, then we staffed the sessions for the songs with musicians that we are inspired by. Then we dubbed and arranged the absolute shit out of them with our partner Jim Vollentine.”

THE FAIM RELEASE NEW SINGLE, “FIRE,” PREMIERING EXCLUSIVELY WITH FORBES
According to Josh, “The concept behind ‘Fire’ is about how dedicating yourself to achieve your dream can affect your relationships with those closest to you, be it family, friends, or loved ones. When you fully believe in something that you’re working towards, it can become an addiction. You become so focused on what you plan to achieve that you lose sight of what’s happening around you. This is what ‘fire’ refers to in the song: that burning passion to create, express ourselves, and grow as musicians that we can’t put out even if we tried.”

The third album in a trilogy (following 2015’s Faith in the Future and 2017’s We All Want The Same Things), I Need A New War once again sees Finn expertly chronicling our complex, often confusing, modern era, drawing deeply felt character studies about regular people trying to respond to extraordinary times, attempting to find connection whilst wondering how to keep pace with a world moving faster than they are. The LP further finds Finn focusing his lens on New York City – his home for the last 18 years.
