Persona Premieres New Single And Music Video, “Whole Again”: WATCH

The adage that states “what doesn’t kill you makes you stronger” hits home for Long Island Indie/Pop rock quartet Persona and their brand new single “Whole Again,” out TODAY with a corresponding music video. Running off the recent release of their last single, “Indie Cowboy” (and whilst preparing to record a new album), Persona takes indie rock to new heights, continuing to explore past the realms of the genre and incorporating crisp elements of both alternative rock and pop into the mix. Although the track is quite personal, the corresponding music video (watch HERE) adds even more layers to the band’s ‘persona,’ showcasing a toxic relationship on it’s way down.Taking their individual, unique pains and applying it to Persona’s creative process, the final result is an indie mish mosh of triumph. About the release of “Whole Again”, the band states:

“Whole Again” is about coming down off of a breakup and finding yourself, exactly where you are supposed to be. I think we all can relate to a toxic love relationship. Where you love a person so dearly, but they are just not good for you and you stay complacent and settle for all the negative outcomes of the relationship. “Whole Again” is about settling in to the uncomfortable situations after a breakup and finding yourself and growing.

Lead guitarist Kate McGuire explains, “The song is about society’s expectations of how we should look, dress, feel and sound and that the only person who should dictate these things for you is yourself. We feel that abiding by someone else’s standards won’t get you anywhere.”

Darling James releases neon-dream video for ‘Silver Bullet’

Darling James says “I wanted the clip to show a slow but dramatic change in someone’s mental state like a religious ecstasy where it’s hard to tell if the person is transcending and in the midst of an amazing experience or completely losing their mind and having an awful time. You could maybe call it ‘manic stability’, i.e. a bit of both! In the end the character seems to be saved or at least calmed by this shark image which is perhaps his version of a totem”.

STREAKING IN TONGUES and their new album Kindergarten Prayers

STREAKING IN TONGUES are an experimental father/son duo from the tiny village of Otisville, Michigan. The multi-instrumentalists, father Ronnie Ferguson and his 11-year-old son Elliott, are known for their genre-melding albums, multimedia concerts, and creative music videos. Life Support, their second album, was selected as one of the best albums of 2016 by Spirit You All, garnering comparisons to Elliott Smith, Daniel Johnston, Sufjan Stevens, and Mount Eerie. Their new album Kindergarten Prayers combines the diaristic intimacy of the aforementioned singer-songwriters with an equal mix of sprawling, homespun experimentation reminiscent of The Flaming Lips and Bright Eyes. In addition to recording albums and making music videos, the two are heavily involved in other creative projects. Ronnie, long prolific in theatre as a playwright/director/actor and score composer, will see the publication of his first book of poetry, Selfies, later this year through Harvard Square Press.
