Continuing to change the course of art and history within each medium he works in, today A$AP Rocky shares the new track and official video for “A$AP Forever” featuring Moby (A$AP Worldwide/Polo Grounds Music/RCA Records). Sampling the instantly recognizable and iconic “Porcelain” from Moby’s seminal ’99 electronic-turned-pop album Play, Rocky pays homage to the end of the 20th century when electronic music first hit the mainstream waves, while also introducing a whole new audience of young fans to the history-making artist and album.
The song is accompanied with the official video, directed by Dexter Navy, which follows Rocky through his own stunning version of augmented reality and everlasting moments of youth in New York, floating freely between space and time. Rocky performed a medley of “A$AP Forever” and a new song, “Distorted Records,” last night on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.
While it’s been nearly 3 years since the release of Rocky’s last solo album, AT. LONG. LAST. A$AP, his second album to debut at #1 on the Billboard 200 and is RIAA-certified Platinum, Rocky has been anything but quiet. From carrying on the legacy of the A$AP Mob co-founder A$AP Yams with the successful yearly tradition of Yams Day celebrations in NYC, to the release of two mixtapes: 2016’s Cozy Tapes Vol 1: Friends- and 2017’s Cozy Tapes Vol 2: Too Cozy, featuring the hit single “RAF” which has been streamed over 100M times.
