Folk Soul Songwriter Nora Rothman’s “Note to My Ex-Lover”

Hailing from Hollywood nobility as the daughter of Tom Rothman (Chairman, Sony Pictures Entertainment) and Jessica Harper (Actress), it was inevitable that actress and indie singer/songwriter Nora Rothman would find herself fully immersed in all things music and entertainment. Rothman has dabbled in acting (Hunky Dory, Criminal Minds: Beyond Borders) and political work (Colorado field organizer for the Hilary Clinton campaign), but ultimately found relief in music while struggling with an anxiety disorder and will be releasing her debut EP this summer.

Bonnaroo announces 2018 dates

Bonnaroo 2017 was an incredible success with over 65,000 attendees closing out the festival’s 16th year on the farm. Krysten Ritter Creative Directs new The War on Drugs “Holding On” Video

The War on Drugs recently released a new song, “Holding On,” and now the band have shared the music video. Creatively conceptualized by Krysten Ritter (star of “Jessica Jones” on Netflix) and directed by Brett Haley (I’ll See You In My Dreams, The Hero), the video stars “The Wire”‘s Frankie Faison along with frontman Adam Granduciel.

“Holding On” marks the first single off their forthcoming album, A Deeper Understanding, which arrives August 25 (Atlantic Records). They also recently released another track “Thinking of a Place” in April. The War on Drugs will embark on a two-month tour beginning in September.

Pauline Pisano Shares New Track “Calling All Angels”

Today, NYC-based, singer/songwriter Pauline Pisano, premieres her new track “Calling All Angels,” exclusively with Blurt Magazine. Pisano, whose self released solo album, Inside The Wheel is due out on Tuesday, September 5, 2017, has been busy with various projects as keyboardist, collaborator and vocalist with such notable names as The Crushes, Decima and I, Revere in addition to an ambitious and heartheavy album undertaking. Inside The Wheel, was mostly written by Pauline, and produced by Dan Weiner, helped derive a dark/hopeful vibe to its conceptual aesthetic.

No Cigar Announce New Full-Length Album

Alternative/punk rock band, No Cigar have finished recording their premiere full-length album & plan a release date of June 23rd.

According to frontman/producer, Nick Miles, the album was mastered at Metropolis Studios in London, a legendary and world renowned recording studio with works ranging all the way from bands like the Beatles, The Who, Led Zeppelin, Sex Pistols & The Clash to more modern artists such as Amy Winehouse, U2, Adele, Bjork, The Killers, and tons more. The same studio even put in some work on Kendrick Lamar’s latest album, “Damn”.

Boston Is 2017’s 9th Best City for Gamers

With the Electronic Entertainment Expo 2017 drawing large crowds to Los Angeles until June 15 and U.S. gaming revenues expected to exceed $25 billion this year, the personal-finance website WalletHub today released its report on 2017’s Best Cities for Gamers.

To determine the best places to be a serious gamer, WalletHub’s number crunchers compared the 100 largest cities across 20 key indicators of gamer-friendliness. The data ranges from average internet speed to video-game stores per capita to number of esports tournaments.

POISON BLOOD: Black Metal Duo Featuring Members of Krieg and Horseback Announce Debut EP

Newly formed black metal duo POISON BLOOD has signed to Relapse Records for the release of their debut, self-titled EP. POISON BLOOD is a collaboration between Jenks Miller (Horseback) and Neill Jameson (Krieg) born out of Miller’s desire to write music that was an outlet for a more straightforward kind of aggression. The two musicians came together as fans of each other’s work, a mutual appreciation for Beherit’s classic Drawing Down The Moon LP, and the experimental deathrock of cult UK act Rudimentary Peni. Although they have yet to meet in person, the project was crystallized with the contribution of Jameson’s vocals. Across eight songs and nineteen+ minutes with explorations into deathrock, dungeon synth, and the occult, POISON BLOOD’s eponymous debut EP is a short but furious chronicle of cold, reptilian sonic terror shrouded in album art by Viral Graphics.

Los Angeles-based duo 1 AMVRKA (pronounced “One America”) will release their debut One America EP on June 23rd via WLDFIRE/Capitol Records. At the heart of 1 AMVRKA’s dynamic sound are the divergent sensibilities of singer/lyricist Jesse Scott (an Oklahoma native who started out writing country songs on a three-string guitar) and L.A. born producer/songwriter/multi-instrumentalist Rudy Maya. HBO Actress Unleashes Provocative Caribbean Dancehall Anthem

JONAH PARZEN-JOHNSON SHARES “TOO MANY DREAMS”

Brooklyn-based saxophonist Jonah Parzen-Johnson is excited to share “Too Many Dreams” from his upcoming album I Try To Remember Where I Come From, due July 7, 2017 on Clean Feed Records. Jonah creates music for solo saxophone, but through the use of circular breathing techniques, he plays melodic runs over analog synthesizers that he manipulates simultaneously with his feet. “Too Many Dreams” was revealed in a premiere via I Care If You Listen, who noted that “His use of circular breathing techniques, jazz and minimalist influences, and lo-fi electronics combine to create seamless, catchy grooves.”
