Jessica Meuse signs deal with LA Group Management

American Idol alum Jessica Meuse has signed a deal with L.A. Entertainment, Inc.’s management division, LA Group Management, and the Season 13, Top 4 finalist is also starting pre-production to record her debut album for release on Warrior Records/eOne.

Hailing from Slapout, AL, Jessica has been a natural performer, wowing audiences since the age of 10. At 20, she won the state-wide artist showcase, Stars of Alabama, and in 2013 was part of the Vans Warped Tour. Meuse’s tenure on American Idol led to her becoming the first person in the history of the hit series to perform her own composition, “Blue-eyed Lie,” during the finals. “Jessica pulled together a powerful performance of her original song,” commented Ryan Seacrest.

Second Still Share “Strangers” Track Via PureVolume

Today, Second Still share their new track “Strangers” via PureVolume. The band explains that the track was “written for the woman that overlooks indecency in her partner for the pleasure of being pained.” The LA-based post-punk/coldwave three-piece are gearing up to release their debut, self-titled album on April 7th via Manic Depression Records.

The band’s debut EP, Early Forms, quickly sold out of cassettes on Bandcamp after it’s release in March of 2016. Between that EP and the forthcoming release, they released a single, “Walls,” that Post-Punk.com calls “a stark departure from the primitive coldwave renderings” and says, “Reverb-heavy guitars and pitch-perfect vocal melodies draw you in while a hard-hitting drum machine and a steady bass line keep the groove underneath.”

Daniel Tortoledo “Dark Times (Brothers and Sisters)” Video

Brooklyn-based Folk/Rock American-Venezuelan songwriter Daniel Tortoledo drops new single “Dark Times”, in collaboration with visual artist Lill Martinez.

“Dark Times” is the first cut of Tortoledo’s upcoming album “Throughout These Years”, due this summer. “Inspiration for the song came while cleaning an old piano”, he says. “The random sound of the keys served as original sound bites for the groove to start taking place. FAERS – ‘Everything you know’

Sounding like an instant summer festival classic with its high-octane riffs and explosive band chemistry, ‘Everything You Know’ is an adrenaline-inducing dance floor anthem. Loaded with hooks that stay with you long after the song has ended, FAERS have lit upon an invigorating brand of psychedelic afro-funk tinged indie rock. ‘Everything You Know’ is the first release from a crop of tracks created during songwriting sessions late last year. After a week of jamming at an undisclosed location far from any towns and cities in the UK, FAERS ventured to Gothenburg to capture the new sounds they’d constructed with alongside Warner-affiliated producer and long-time friend Anders Largerfors. Whilst there, they engaged with the thriving local scene and invited Pale Honey vocalist Tuva Lodmark to sing on the song. The result is an infectious and eclectic pop classic that highlights the effortless cohesion of its writers.

Hundreds of releases and countless live performances littered the path that lead to 2012’s Modern Jester, artist Aaron Dilloway’s last major artistic statement as a solo artist and one his most well received documents since leaving Wolf Eyes, the prolific noise troupe that Dilloway co-founded in the late 90’s with musician Nate Young. Within these pieces, we find a surreal treasure hunt that helps guide us through Dilloway’s obsessions, neurosis and influences while also developing a splintered maturity of someone with great complexity stumbling through a well thought out, yet totally unplanned “long game” of an artistic career. Since then, Dilloway has been busy collaborating with the likes of Genesis Breyer P-Orridge and Jason Lescalleet, releasing various short form sketches and running his retail outpost, Hanson Records, while slowly working on his next major album, The Gag File.

The Proper Ornaments – the project of James Hoare (Ultimate Painting, Veronica Falls) and Max Oscarnold (Toy) released their sophomore album Foxhole on January 20 via Slumberland Records (US) and Tough Love Records (ROW).

This week the band shares a non-album track; a cover of The Jesus & Mary Chain’s “Deep One Perfect Morning,” which you can hear now over at Under The Radar. Here’s a quote from the band about how the track came together:

“We’ve been obsessed with Darklands for a long time now, we just love that record. It’s difficult to differentiate the songs, it feels like a big long pessimistic one, like existentialist Beach Boys music, where the ocean is polluted and the nice cars have been burned or stolen.”

The Everymen announce final show

The Everymen, New Jersey’s preeminent party rockers and road warriors, are saddened to announce their final show as a group. The show will take place at WMFU’s Monty Hall in Jersey City, NJ on May 13.

Led by the indomitable spirit of guitarist, front man and founder Mike V and his partner in crime and soulful vocals Catherine Herrick, as well as long-time cohorts the brothers Scott and Jamie Zillitto on sax and bass respectively, and guitar/piano-man Ryan Gross, The Everymen’s sound has become a road tested force to be reckoned with, equal parts hard rock, doo wop pop and fist pumping anthems.

“Here to remind us just how bleak finding love in this digital age, cult Australian rapper/singer Allday’s latest visual rejects the hot-girl-frollicking-on-the-beach-in-a-series-of-drone-shots depiction of love in favor of killing off couples who come too close. Hello darkness, my old friend.

“In Motion” is set in an alternate 2017 (or how alternate is it, really?) where humans have lost the capacity to sustain love. Allday heads up a ‘Punch Bowl Party’ which induces young people to fall in love via simulation programs. As it turns out no one can really handle that level of emotion, though and well…it gets hectic. Relatable/10?

Boston Ballet presents The Sleeping Beauty

Boston Ballet presents the coming-of-age fairytale The Sleeping Beauty by Marius Petipa with additional choreography by Sir Frederick Ashton. Hailed as one of the Company’s trademark works, this quintessential production features soaring music by Peter Ilych Tchaikovsky and sumptuous sets and costumes by Emmy Award-winning designer David Walker. The Sleeping Beauty runs April 28–May 27 at the Boston Opera House.

Lil Wayne announced via Twitter this morning that DASH Radio will be the home to Young Money Entertainment’s newest online radio channel called Young Money Radio. The first show on the station will be debut this evening, Tuesday, March 27 at 5 p.m. EST with the world premiere of Young Money artist HoodyBaby’s new album Kitchen 24: Slangin Off Key.
