Several genres under one artist’s namesake, can be a tricky one, for the likes of Amilia K Spicer and her song “Fill Me Up” off her upcoming album ‘Wow and Flutter”. This track takes the genres of soul, folk, rock, country, and some Americana thrown in for good measure, you get quite the combination. “Fill Me Up”, is one of those tracks that really stands out, but as soon as you hear it, you get that “Oh I know” vibration flowing. Immediately hearing it, you pick up country music right off the bat, but after listening to it, you get that essence of soul, rock, folk, and Americana as well. It ends up sounding not that bad.
Amilia K Spicer, herself has quite the singing voice, as far as vocal chords go, as for the instrumental portion of the track, it glows and flows together rather nicely. It brings the music together as one whole circle, having it sound easy going yet mellow driven. It’s like your typical country rock tune but it provides more than that with the flare of folk and soul. You get more material, it keeps the song bouncing, upbeat, and more catching. If you aren’t tapping your fingers or toes, then you may just find yourself bobbing your head to the beat, because it is that moving.
As a matter of fact, Amilia K Spicer has this essence to her, that brings to mind, that of other similar artists within this mixed up genre, like take Carrie Underwood or even Miley Cyrus’s earlier career of that country rock pop tone, she had going for some time. That is what you get when listening to his female artist. She is an up and coming act, that not all may know just yet, but after hearing this track by her, they will know who she is and what she is all about as far as her music is concerned.
If “Fill Me Up”, isn’t your type of track, then perhaps Amilia K Spicer is just not the artist for you. If your open to trying new things, which includes music genres, than her style will get to you. You will likely listen to this song a few times over. It’s what happened with me, her song was interesting at first, then enjoyable in the long run of it all. She has uniqueness and creativity going on, and it isn’t going anywhere anytime soon.
Amilia K Spicer’s “Fill Me Up”, off her new album “Wow and Flutter” is a set of releases, that should be took into consideration, give or take, her style is there, it is capturing the essence of her fans, and others around her. Really not much more that can be said about it, the material itself, or herself for that matter. She is one of those artists that is coming along and will take notice of her abilities and skills by drawing in whoever she can, with her music. If you are into her, then by all means check out more of her works, otherwise this song and album may be just for you.
